Obtain waivers for all trucks hauling ldquoemergency materials ndash storm
stockrdquo for that statersquos DOT groups (This can be established prior to
a disaster but is very important as you try to make quick deliveries
over long distances Plus there are times when you can increase
load volume on a truck but have to lower that to stay within overall
weight restrictions)
Provide updates as to working fuel stops rest areas for inbound
truckers so they know that they can obtain the resources to return
from the disaster area
Federal state or local ldquohot-linesrdquo for information which can be
supplied to trucking companies for general weather or road closures
