And after seeing how bread is made, we suggest that you find out how the grain used to be ground. To do this, visit the unique ensemble of watermills along the Merin River, a pleasant walk of just two kilometers along the river bank. When you get to the village two Muiños, again on the other side to the starting point, by making the journey that many of the inhabitants of the area used to do, carrying sacks of grain, and returning with flour.

In Bodegas Valdés you will find a winery that combines family tradition with the most modern wine making techniques in an activity that includes visit to the winery, vineyards and tasting. DAY 2BRIDGES OVER THE ULLA´S RIVER: GUNDIÁN´S VIEWPOINT

From the Gundián viewpoint, you will begin the day by enjoying the stunning views of the Ulla Valley, from the Gundián Bridge, which was built in 1958. And also, from the modern and monumental viaduct for the high speed train (AVE), whose bases exceed 100 metres in height. You shall also appreciate the rocky walls that form the narrowing known as Paso da Cova and the Alto do Castro, a former military fortification.

SAN XOÁN DACOVA´S PATH

Once you have contemplated the Valley, we recommend that you put on your boots and get to know it step by step! Throughout its 11 kilometres of walking, the beautiful path of San Xoán da Cova will lead you towards the right bank of the Ulla River, in a downward direction, by taking advantage of the paths, trails trodden by fishermen and other already marked trails. You will visit the town of A Ponte Ulla, the Reboredo mill, as well as several recreational areas, as Agro-novo of familiar character, Ximonde, one of the most important salmon reserves of Galicia and today turned into a fish breeding and reproduction station, and Cubelas, where we wrap up the hike.

DAY 3

AGUARDIENTES DE GALICIA

At last, in one of the most lush regions of Galicia, among century old oak trees, ash trees, willows and birches, get to know the place where the pomace of grapes are grown Albariño which produce the rich liqueur of Aguardientes de Galicia. Visit the facilities and you will not be indifferent! It is part of the wine route from the Rias Baixas, and has won several awards due to his long and prolific career in the production of alcoholic beverages.

PAZO DE XIMONDE

Finally, if you are in group that is big enough as to carry out the visit to the last of the available industries of this town, we recommend that in your journey you go through the former residence of the Counts of Ximonde, a beautiful Manor House which, although it is not open to visitors, is worth admiring. This estate has spacious green areas in which water comes to life thanks to their springs, channels and century old ponds.
