A disc 30%" in diameter, circular in shape, it isdished likea ,saucer and actuallythere is a saucer withina saucerin the manner of ' * _cymbals. On one surfacethere is attached a plastic dome described as aboutlb" in diamter and affixed byB bolts in arather rough manner. Thebolts Ecan best be-described as similar tostove bolts. On theother surface is 7another dome of metalwhich is gold in color on one side and on the insideissilver in color, which looks like tin. Through the plastic dome can be ob-served threotubes similar to radiotubes and there is some wiring. The discgenerallyis 10" thick and at the point where the domes are locatedabout lh" in thickness. Thereis an objecton it similar to electric coil whichhas some type of an armon it and bears the words "InspectedTS". Some of

the wiring has been burned off andit looks asthough something might bemissing. -

In the center was a.tube and asmall motorwith apropeller attached tothe side. Colonelexpressed the opinion that this disc would not be able to fly byitself. He advised it would be taken to the Air Corps Headquarters.

For the Bureau's information,United Press and AssociatedPress telephoned me at my residence about three or four times between1:00AJJ. and 2:30 A.l.{., Julyglka 1947- The United Press represeninformed me that Father JOSEP1, IIASZQI had stated on interviex-.1 by aLfilwaulcee Sentinel reporter, ohe92BILL Phonetic! that he,Father BRASIE, was going to call the FBI concerning the contraption,which apparently was identical with one of the flying discs recentlypublicized throughout the country. The United Press representative

desired to know if we had any statement to make on the matter. Iinformed him that I hadno official comment, other than "No Comment."

Since I have contacted the United Press representative onvarious occasions, I asked him that the actual details were , and hestated he did not know except that the interv:'_evr of the priest reectedthata circular saw had been found with some devices attachedto it.

The Associated Press called me shortly after the UnitedPress representative did, and on being advised that I had no commentto make concerning the story, I asked the Associated Press representa-tive what the actual facts were, and he informed methat as far as theAssociated Press was concerned, the facts were thata circular saw had

been found and a story had been obtained froma priest who had beendrinking quite heavily. Tnehssociated Press representative informedme that apparently the United Press desired to geta statement from medenying or affiming that the FBI was investigating the matter. Er.WENYCN was quoted as havingcalled the Federal Bureeh of Investigationand was advised that the Bureau was not interested, whereupon he notifiedthe Eastern Airlines and the Civil Aeronautic Authority of the objectshe had seen.Both agencies are reported to have accepted the informationstating they would investigate. Theclipping further stated that Mr.WENYON hadreceived noanswer todate from either agency.

This clipping was submitted to meby the resident agents office atWilmington together with theadvice that no agent in Wilmington had beencontacted by nr. WENYON. I directed hr. WENYOHbeinterviewed todetenminthe full facts. '

Er. WENYUN was interviewed and it was determined that his correct name-is

HORACE E;_EEN!0N. rr. WENYON advised that hehad been an airplane pilot

approximately thirty years. He stated that in September of l9h6, while atan altitude of 1,000 feet, two or three miles south of Rehoboth Beach,Delaware, he noticed aprojectile approxhnately fifteen inches in diamewhich crossed his course at rightangles and was moving in awestto-eastdirection. According to ur. WENYON, several jets of flame were sportingfrom the object and it was traveling at avery high rate of speed, 1,000to l,2t0 miles per hour. He stated that in October of 19b6, he observedsimilar projectile while flying over Rehoboth Beach at l,h00 feet,_iThiswas alsotraveling from west to east. -_;;;--~" "'

Hr.Wanton stated that there is little question in his mindbut that thathe saw was some sort of rocket being tested. He stated that he wishedcall thematter to theattention of the appropriate authority inasmuch as

. ' In addition to containing the detailed descriptions of what wasallegedly seen by several persons, the Bureau's attention is particularly celledto the first memorandum setting forth the notes of Agent CIC,

Fourth Air Force, concerning an interview he had with Mr._ Box 387, Boise} Idaho, who reported that on July 12, 194'? he had seanmine strangeobjects flying over the Cascade Mountain Range of Washington State. It will benoted that CIC Agent -reports thet"Llr._is very outspoken and somewhbitter in his opinions of the leaders of the United States Ar-my Air Forces and theFBI for not having made an investigation of this matter sooner."

The thought has occurred to me that the Bureau might desire to have
