AVA GalleryThere is a strong exhibiting culture, in addition to showing regularlyin the AVA Gallery students organise their own exhibitions at venuesacross London 16. Fine Art at UELoffers programmes at three levels BA Hons Fine Art MA Fine Art Professional Doctorate in Fine Art 21. BA Honours Fine Art Three years Full time Or five years part time Students should normally have completed a foundation course, access course, or equivalent before entry. Karen Raney is a critic, writer, and editor of Engage, andteaches theory to MA and Professional Doctorate students 28. Alexis Harding teaches painting 29. Professional Doctorate in Fine Art A unique practice based programme more suitable for manyartists than a PhD. Final exam is a public exhibition, not a written thesis A strong critical but supportive dialogue is developed viaregular seminars and exhibitions 29 artist have been awarded the DFA since 1998 Graduates occupy academic positions in universities world wide Normally four years full time Normally six years part time Applicants who already have an MA in Fine Art may apply fordirect entry into level two 30.
