UEL - Cursive World Environment Day- Biodiversity Name:_______________ Date: June 5, 2020
World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated on 5 June every year, and is the United
Nations' principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protections of our
environment. First held in 1974, it has been a flagship campaign for raising awareness on
emerging from environmental issues to marine pollution, human overpopulation, and
global warming, to sustainable consumption and wildlife crime. World Environment Day
has grown to become a global platform for public outreach, with participation from over
143 countries annually. This year's 2020 theme is Biodiversity.

Wisdom
What you grasp
let go
only those seeds that fall
grow.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems only fitting that this week I would be preoccupied by thoughts of those long
departed from my life, but never far away in spirit. Those amazing humans that touch your
life, and share their wisdom, as you listen for answers to life’s questions.
We remember them directly through story and indirectly through sensory memory. Those
who you sought for their courage and wisdom. Their courage and wisdom now lies in you.
We can nurture a new way of life in the warming sunbeams of summer. We have an
opportunity to find new ways forward, and discover that learning happens in gardens,
pathways, and summer walks. We can listen for our source of wisdom to guide us on our
path into this new way of being in the world.
We can rediscover the timeless ingredients of human becoming that are seeded in
moments of joy, curiosity, imagination, and reflection.
In letting go of our grasp, we can find new ways forward.
Be well. Until next time, Ms. Jan.
