1. Company Prof e

UED has been in business since 1992, with its main objectives to propagate commercial

private enterprise to the Mining and Local Industry with regards to (LV) Low Voltage (Up to 1000V) Electrical systems. UED also has made inroads into the (MV) Medium voltage

industry with a product range called Live Line Technology, which involves lightning protection of Electrical distribution lines. Also available through LLT are flash suits, as well as MV test equipment and overhead line equipment.

UED is an electrical wholesaler and manufacturer of numerous (LV) Electrical products which are sourced from various manufacturers and Importers in Gauteng. UED is also the

custodian of a range of patented products that were developed for the Mining Industry. From 1992 to date (2016), UED has sold Low Voltage products into the market

allowing the progressive preparation of staff and the business environment for the establishment of good customer relations. The increased demand for UED’s electrical products has meant that UED has an efficient and effective logistics department always ready to meet the customer’s needs on time. UED has matured and become known in the local market as a reliable, credible and efficient electrical wholesale company. UED is developing into a fully-fledged, professional entity, which is always dedicated to supplying a product into the market that is;

High voltage Insulation protection products (PPE)

Rubber Mats are manufactured in several sizes, thickness and dimensions. These are generally utilized for covering the floor around electrical panels, so as to protect workers from all electric shock and short-circuiting. These are supplied according to ASTM D-1048 that makes our product highly demandable in the domestic market. They are used in conjunction with a MV Rubber boot to protect the electrician from electrical shock.

Insulated Rescue Stick

What is it used for ? Live Line Technology offers an insulated rescue stick for the safety of personnel working on high voltage electrical switchgear. This unit needs to be available to high voltage electrical users in confined areas such as switching stations, sub-stations or switching yards. In the event of an arc flash or shock incident, these sticks can then be utilized to remove an electrical technician from the hazard. Insulated at 100kv/30cm, and is for use in and around high voltage switchgear.

Sticks can be de-assembled into two pieces for easy transport Sticks feature an 18” coated heat treated steel body hook. Wall thickness has been engineered to provide the utmost in mechanical strength to meet the rigorous use pushing, pulling and twisting of stubborn equipment and removal of personnel.

Insulated rescue sticks are available with 1.6 meter and 1.8 meter handle lengths. Featuring a foam filled fiberglass reinforced handle for superior electrical insulation that meets requirements of ASTM F711, ASTM F711, ASTM F1826 and OSHA sub V.sec 1969.951.(d)

What is the LLT Link stick used for? Link sticks are used by linesmen to open and close solid links, (open/close the circuit) carry out maintenance operations on live line surge arrestors and provide restoration to overhead networks without having to turn the voltage supply off.
