Listening/Writing:   This week, there will be a 5 part series to learn how to

do personal narrative writing. Start with this video and

    begin the process:

  • Math:  1.Today we are going to review the difference of what a

2D shape is compared with a 3D shape. Watch the

following video to see how they are different:2D vs. 3D Shapes! Mr. B's Brain - Ep. 2: 2D and 3D Shapes

2D and 3D Shapes Rap Song | Shapes for kids | Mr.

    Woodland

2.We are going to look deeper into what a 2D shape is

for these shapes: square, circle, triangle, and rectangle.

Students will use words like straight sides, corners or

vertices, curved lines to describe their attributes. Watch

the following video to learn this: Shapes, Sides and Vertices | Version 1 | Jack Hartmann

  • 4. Choose any three of the following activities to do:

    ● Play “I Spy”, finding shapes around your home. Give clues to your partner about what your shape

    looks like.

    ● Draw a scene on a piece of paper using the four shapes mentioned above. It could be of a castle, a

ship, or a house. Try to ask an adult to find your

    shapes in your picture.

    ● Using your body, make the shapes of a square, rectangle, circle, or square. This can also be done

    with a partner.

    ● Write 4 riddles for each shape, including 3 clues for each. Have an adult guess what shape you are

    describing.

    ● Make a shape book of a square, rectangle, circle, and triangle. Hunt for these shapes in magazines or

flyers and glue them into your book. Share this with

    an adult.

    Math:

    1. We are going to investigate what 3D shapes

stack, slide, and roll. Watch the following videos:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCI5F6A3BTo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcsUQIxJKjY 2.Use your 3D shapes to test if they stack, slide or

roll. Remember that for a 3D shape to stack, the 3D

shape needs to have a flat surface on the bottom

    and the top.

  • When comparing 3D shapes, it is important practice to

use math words like: face, edge, vertices, roll, stack,

slide. Watch the following videos on comparing 3D

    shapes:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gP6OJdHTRes

    Select a sorting rule below:

    ● Square faces versus circle faces ● 6 faces versus less than 6 faces ● 8 vertices versus less than 8 vertices

Write the names of the 3D shapes in the correct set.

3.Choose any three of the following activities to do: ● Play “I Spy”, finding 3D shapes around your home.

Give clues to your partner about what your shape

    looks like.

    ● Watch the following video and learn how to draw a cube. Try it!

  • ● Select 2 different 3D shapes. Tell how they are the same and tell how they are different to an adult.

    ● Write a riddle for three different 3D shapes, including 3 clues for each. Have an adult guess what

    shape you are describing.

    ● Make a shape book of a cube, rectangular prism, sphere, cylinder, cone, and pyramid. Hunt for these
