What is Little “I”?

The Little International Livestock Show, or Little “I”, is UConn’s version of the International Livestock show. As a project for the Introduction to Animal Science class, students are assigned an animal from the species of their choice and then learn how to show it. For two months, they train and fit their animals so they look their best on show day. The Little “I” is hosted by the UConn Block and Bridle Club and the Department of Animal Science and made possible by all of our sponsors and dedicated members.

Enjoy the show!

Good Morning!

Welcome to the 86th Annual Little International Livestock Show. Each year, students from the Introduction to Animal Science class are given the opportunity to train, fit and show an animal of their choice. They have put countless hours of work into training their animals over the past two months to make sure their animal is show ready. Through these practices, the students have grown accustomed to handling and developed confidence in working with livestock animals. We are so glad you all could join us to see the final product of all of their hard work.

This show would not have been a success without all of our sponsors and the help from the Department of Animal Science’s faculty and staff. On behalf of the UConn Block and Bridle Club, I would like to thank all of those that helped in the planning and execution of this event, as well as all of the generous sponsors. Thank you all for coming and enjoy the show! It is sure to be out of this world!

Rachel Holden President UConn Block and Bridle Club

Guest of Distinction The UConn Block & Bridle Club would like to honor Jennifer Simoniello as our 2015 Guest of

Distinction. As the Administrative Coordinator and assistant to the head of the Department of Animal Science for over 27 years, Jennifer oversees the department’s marketing and advertising area. She also plans and promotes events with coordination of special projects for the department. After many years in the same department, Jennifer Simoniello is the go-to person for faculty and student support, helping them with all academic issues, recruitment, among many other departmental matters. Jennifer truly enjoys working with the animal science students during her daily interactions with them, especially with the freshmen and Little “I” related events. The Department of Animal Science is truly grateful for Jennifer’s contributions throughout the years. She has always been supportive and accommodating to our events year-in, year-out with a smile on her face. We couldn’t ask for a better advocate and department friend! We would like to thank her for all of the time and support she gives to both the club and the Department of Animal Science and we are honored to have her as our Guest of Distinction.

Thank you and congratulations Jen Simoniello! -Members of the Block & Bridle Club
