Objectives of UCD Orientation• Summarise the organisational structure of the

university

• Articulate the overall university vision, history and strategy

• Understand the university sector and how UCD fits within the sector, both nationally and internationally

• Understand the geography of the campus and facilities available

Objectives of UCD Orientation• Identify key points of contact in relevant

sections of the university

• Forge relationships with fellow colleagues for future support and collaboration

• Understand relevant university policies, procedures and terms which relate to your employment and know how to access these

• Gain an appreciation of health and safety within UCD

Local Induction• Completed between you and your line

manager/Head of Sch/Unit over the first week

• Very important to integrate into your school/unit and understand the culture
