If you’re thinking about progressing on to higher educati on (HE) then this is the best place to start. Choosing the right course at the right university or college is an important, life changing decision and this event is all about helping you make the best choice for you.

This exhibiti on gives you the opportunity to att end subject talks about the courses you’re interested in and speak to staff from diff erent HE insti tuti ons across the UK. You can gather plenty of informati on to take away to read and discuss with your family, friends and teachers.

There are two main parts to the day that you should not miss:• Exhibiti on• Subject talks

ExhibitionThe exhibiti on is held in the Sports Hall and the Marquee, with over 150 insti tuti ons att ending. Make sure you take the ti me to visit the stands of the insti tuti ons you are interested in and ask questi ons to the staff representati ves. If you’re stuck about what to ask, turn to page 16 and read some of our suggested questi ons. And don’t forget to take home some of the freebies that are on off er!

Subject TalksThere are a wide range of subject talks running throughout the day, each lasti ng 30 minutes. These presentati ons give you the chance to fi nd out more about a specifi c area of study and ask any questi ons you may have about the subject.

Turn to pages 14 and 15 to see the list of subject talks, ti mes and room numbers then use the planners on page 18 to help build your schedule for the day. The University of Bedfordshire’s Bedford campus map can be found on pages 12 and 13 to help you locate the rooms where the talks will be held.

Your UCAS TicketYour UCAS ti cket will have a barcode on it, which will need to be scanned on entrance to the event. Please ensure you bring your UCAS ti cket with you. You will also need to keep this with you as you make your way around the exhibitor stands throughout the course of the day.

To get your career started you usually need a combinati on of experience and qualifi cati ons. An apprenti ceship gives you both by combining on the job training with study (usually one day a week) meaning you can earn while you learn. With some apprenti ceships you can even get a degree.

CHECK OUT THE LIVE BANDS IN THE ENTERTAINMENT MARQUEE!

TOFFEESToffees are a four piece melodic rock band that formed in Milton Keynes in 2013. Their infl uences are classic acts such as The Beatles, The Who and The Cure, and they have been compared to Royal Blood, Kasabian and early Green Day. They released their debut album ‘Room with a View’ in 2013 and more recently an EP ‘Down in Style’ in August 2016. Last year they played a variety of festivals across the UK including Brixton Jam, Mudfest (supporting Scouting for Girls) and a number of charity festivals.www.toffeesoffi cial.co.uk

KALABASHKalabash are a four piece band from London that has toured extensively across the UK and Europe. The band members have collectively recorded over thirty albums with a range of famous artists including Bonnie Tyler, Paul Young and Don Airey (Deep Purple). Their infl uencers in music span from the 1960’s to the current charts. Using professionalism, a passion for performance and incredible energy on stage, Kalabash are building an exciting profi le of music that is guaranteed to be entertaining and memorable. www.kalabashband.co.uk

AMONGST REEDSMilton Keynes based group Amongst Reeds take infl uence from great soul artists like Eryka Badu and Joss Stone, with the defi ant energy of The Dead Kennedy’s, Bouncing Soul’s and AFI. Amongst Reeds self-produced their fi rst record Thrift E.P. The success of this record has found them playing with great bands such as Inlak’esh, Forest of Fools and Jasper, as well as appearing on an array of stages such as Illusive festival, Togfest, Grand Marstonbury and MKFM’s launch party. This year they are fi nishing their second record and playing across the UK with even more of that soul punk energy than before.www.amongstreeds.com

THE HOUSEThe House are a four piece alternative rock band from Milton Keynes. Their inspirations include The 1975, The Japanese House and The Hunna.
