Page 1 of 3 Winther Wireless Nordic distribution - Ubiquiti largest distributor in Scandinavia - Certified Ubiquiti Trainer Here is a list of all the new products and solutions they have or will release shortly: AIRfiber – 1.4Gbit point to point 24GHz radiolink Airfiber is a microwave point to point IP/Ethernet link of- fering between 256Mbps and to 1.4Gbit/s. It is designed for the license free spectrum on 24GHz(likely to later sup- port 21-25GHz). It is an integrated unit where both anten- nas and modems is in one unit for easy installation. It has two parabolic dishes built-in, one on 39dBi (RX) and one on 33dBi (RX). The Airfiber has a brand new technology called HDD, “Hybrid division du- plex”, what this means is that it supports hybrid type of FDD and TDD transmis- sion. It also means the actual latency has been reduced to 100 useconds which is extremely low compared to regular TDD based systems with many milliseconds in delay. The amazing low latency is obtained using the new HDD technology and GPS receivers, allowing the radios to dynamically receive packet streams without having the normal “TCP ACK” request process finalized before the next packets are send of. One could say the packet streams are meeting bi-directional in “mid- air” yet still under full control. This is an absolute new technology in radio design giving lower latency allowing to replace a fiber with radio. The throughput is up to 1.4Gigabit/s which is shared by uplink and downlink. It has adap- tive modulation and can support modulations-schemes from QPSK and up to 64QAM (256QAM likely planned too). This means speeds can be obtained be- tween min 256Mbit/s and up to 1.4Gbit/s. Last week Winther Wireless attended the Ubiquiti World conference in Chicago, more than 1000 attended the conference. As always Ubiquiti did not let anyone down in terms of several surprises and the constant ambition to push the technology envelope forward. They launched new prod- ucts in perfect Apple style where all is kept secret into the last minute and launched under spectacular video show, yet very personal and relaxed atmosphere. Have you heard of HDD in radio? No, how about low delay and true 1.4Gbit speed point to point to the price of around 24 000SEK? Well, keep reading.... With regards to hop-distances there will be a difference between the US and EU versions. In the US they are allowed to run an EIRP of +33dBm(2watts). This will allow distances above 13km. In the EU the EIRP is max 20dBm (100mW) which natu-rally shorten possible distances, yet still very attractive for our market. Price: Around 28-30 000:- SEK for a complete link pair. Rocket antennas – updateA set of new sectorantennas has been launched, the new

part is that the antenna is adjustable between, 60-120 degrees. This means you only need one model to cover all “sector” needs. The antennas are also improved with more metal-parts making RF isolation better in co-locations. It also has a better cover for

protecting the actual rocket radio and the small pigtails. The parabolic dishes are also improved somewhat and has the radio/pigtail cover included. Prices: Not known. Availability: Not known Rocket Titanium radio The new Rocket Titanium radio is an all-metal model. It has a Gigabit ethernet port which allows for higher speeds in both or in one direction compared with todays 10/100 port radio type. This radio has also improved protection from interfer-ence from other radios in co-located installations as well as interference from leaking ethernet cables from other radiosystems, etc. It has 10% better Airmax performance in PTP mode and 20% in PTMP mode. It has GPS for Airsync support. PoE 802.3af(15watt) is supported.

AIRbeam – updateAirbeam was launched last year but has not reached all markets. It is available for pilot-test installations, contact us if you are interested.

Airbeam is a 2x2 MIMO panel type model andbelongs in the RocketM series. It has a new type of detachable RocketM radio unit, a large panel antenna and a GPS receiver built-in. Through phase array steering it uses up to a “7-system lobe” in order to steer the actual propa-gated wavelength energy towards the desired clients and thus lower potential interference other clients (Who must connect/be-long on another lobe). The Airbeam is a 90 degree angle antenna. Each lobe has about 24dBi gain and through phase/lobe steering it is possible to improve signal to noise ratio with amazing 6-8dB signal to noise and 20% better performance per AP compared to models without beam steering.

The GPS receiver is used to sync TX and RX signal when having multiple Airbeam APs in the same tower or location. In a 4x90degrees sector setup, one can use 2 frequencies, pairing them up back to back. The units is synced by let-ting one Rocket Airbeam AP become master and the other “slaves” getting sync via the local LAN network.

Prices: Not known. Availability: Later 2012
