    QUALIFICATIONS

    I. PROFESSORS

    1. Professor (Plant Pathology):

    i. A Ph.D. Degree in Plant Pathology.

    ii. An eminent scholar with published work of high quality, actively engaged in Teaching, and / or

    experience in Research / Extension at University / National level Institutions, includingexperience of guiding research at PG level with 10 years of experience (excluding period spent

    for obtaining Ph.D. Degree subject to a maximum of 3 years) provided 5 years experience shall

    be in Associate Professor cadre (Pay scale of Rs. 15600-39100 + AGP 8000) or its equivalent

    position in the concerned subject.

    2. Professor (Agricultural Economics):

    i. A Ph.D. Degree in Agricultural Economics.

    ii. An eminent scholar with published work of high quality, actively engaged in Teaching, and / or

    experience in Research / Extension at University / National level Institutions, including

    experience of guiding research at PG level with 10 years of experience (excluding period spent

    for obtaining Ph.D. Degree subject to a maximum of 3 years) provided 5 years experience shall

    be in Associate Professor cadre (Pay scale of Rs. 15600-39100 + AGP 8000) or its equivalent

    position in the concerned subject.

    3. Professor (Genetics and Plant Breeding):

    i. A Ph.D. Degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding.

    experience of guiding research at PG level with 10 years of experience (excluding period spent

    II. ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS

    1. Associate Professor of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry:

    i. A Ph.D. Degree in Soil ScienceandAgricultural Chemistry.

    ii. Five (5) years of experience in Teaching / Research / Extension in the cadre of Assistant

    Professor (Scale of pay Rs. 15600-39100 + AGP 6000) or its equivalent position in the

    concerned subject, excluding the period spent for obtaining the Ph.D. Degree (subject to a

    maximum of 3 years) and has made some indelible marks in the area of subject as evidenced by

    quality of publication, contribution to education innovation, design of new courses and

    curricula.

    2. Associate Professor of Agricultural Entomology:

    i. A Ph.D. Degree in Agricultural Entomology.

    ii. Five (5) years of experience in Teaching / Research / Extension in the cadre of Assistant

    Professor (Scale of pay Rs. 15600-39100 + AGP 6000) or its equivalent position in the

    concerned subject, excluding the period spent for obtaining the Ph.D. Degree (subject to a

    maximum of 3 years) and has made some indelible marks in the area of subject as evidenced by

    quality of publication, contribution to education innovation, design of new courses and

    curricula.

    III. ASSISTANT PROFESSORS

    1. Assistant Professor of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering:

    i. A Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering / Agricultural and Food Engineering is

    essential.

    ii. Good Academic record with at least 55% the marks at the Masters Degree level in Farm

    Machinery and Power Engineering or any of the equivalent subjects of Farm Power and

    Machinery / Farm Machinery and Power / Farm Power and Agro-Energy / Bio-energy from a

    recognized Indian Agricultural University / IIT, or an equivalent Degree from a ForeignUniversity.

    iii. Candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Farm Machinery and

    Power Engineering or equivalent subject for Assistant Professor post conducted by the

    ASRB/UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the ICAR/ICMR/NCERT/UGC/CSIR i.e. (a)

    For Agriculture / Animal Husbandry / Veterinary / Fisheries disciplines, ASRB / ICAR NET in

    the concerned subject is prescribed, (b) For Humanities, languages, etc. UGC NET is prescribed

    and (c) For Pure Sciences, CSIR NET is prescribed.

    iv. Ph.D. is desirable.

    2. Assistant Professor of Statistics:

    i. Good Academic record with at least 55% the marks at the Masters Degree level in Statistics /Agril. Statistics from a recognized Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from a Foreign

    University.

    ii. Candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Statistics / Agricultural

    Statistics for Assistant Professor post conducted by the ASRB/UGC/CSIR or a similar test

    accredited by the ICAR/ICMR/NCERT/UGC/CSIR i.e. (a) For Agriculture / Animal Husbandry

    GUIDELINES FOR THE CANDIDATES APPLYING FOR THE POSTS OF

    TEACHERS / SCIENTIST IN UAS RAICHUR

    1. The details of notification and application form along with the detailed qualifications prescribedfor each of the posts notified are accessible ONLY from the official web site(http://www.uasraichur.edu.in) of UAS, Raichur, which can be downloaded.

    2. The applicants have to enclose the prescribed processing fee in the form of Indian Postal Order /Demand Draft / Bankers Cheque forRs. 1000/- (in case of SC/ST Rs. 500/- only) payable to THE COMPTROLLER, UAS, RAICHUR obtained / drawn within the period from1-1-2013 to 1-2-2013 while submitting the filled in application.

    3. The filled-in applications without the prescribed fee are liable to be rejected.4. Separate applications with separate fee are required for each of the posts applied. Applications for

    two different posts should not be tagged together.

    5. The qualificationsand score cards for selection of candidates for the said posts are in accordancewith the University Notifications.

    6. The roster prescribed for the posts notified herewith is in accordance with the Karnataka StateGovernment Orders as amended from time to time.

    7. Persons with working knowledge in Kannada language shall be preferred.8. Working hours of the University: 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM and Saturday: 9.00 AM to 1.00 PM.9.

    The candidates who have studied under Trimester System and other than 10 point grading systemare required to produce the equivalent percentage certificates obtained from the respective

    University.

    10. Details regarding National / International awards (recognized by ICAR, CSIR, DBT, Ministries ofState or Central Govt., FAO of the UN etc.), Institutional awards / recognized Professional Societyawards etc. should be clearly mentioned for proper appraisal.

    11. Applications must be accompanied by attested copies of Marks Sheets, Certificates,Experience Certificates, Publications, Research Notes, Certificates of Awards/

    Medals, Certificates Related to Past Service etc. and the Details of Research or Related

    Publications, if any, in support of eligibility.12. Candidates already in service (Government / Quasi Government or Private) should submit their

    applications through proper channel. Candidates anticipating delay in sending their applications

    through proper channel may submit an advance copy of the application along with the prescribedfee. The original application duly forwarded by the parent office must reach this office within afortnight after the last date prescribed for submission of filled-in applications. Such of thecandidates who do not forward their applications through the parent office have to produce a NoObjection Certificate at the time of interview, failing which they will not be allowed to appearfor the interview.

    13. All communications, in respect of applications for recruitment against the posts advertised by theUniversity, should be addressed to the Registrar, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur

    584 102.14. The vacancies now notified are provisional and are subject to variations. The University reserves

    24. Selected candidates are compulsorily required to serve the UAS, Raichur for a minimumperiod of 3 years. In case they resign the post in between, they must shell down 6 months

    salary or for the whole period they have worked in the UAS, Raichur whichever is

    maximum. Further, they have to execute a bond to the above said effects.

    25. NET is compulsory for all the posts of Assistant Professor (entry level) as per ICAR / UASguidelines. However for the candidates having Master's degree, NET shall remaincompulsory along with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural

    Sciences. New Delhi) rated refereed journal for recruitment to the post of Assistant

    Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted. Essentiality of

    NET can be waved off for the candidates holding Ph.D degree provided it has been done

    with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations 2009, and the candidate has

    atleast two full length publications having a NAAS rating not less than 4, on the last date

    of submission of application. Those candidates with Ph.D. degree without course work

    will not qualify for NET exemption.26. The selected candidates shall be on probation for a period of one year from the date of joining.27. The prescribed Essential Qualifications are minimum and possessing of same does not entitle the

    candidates to be called for interview. Where the number of applicants is large, the University mayrestrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit (10 candidates for one post)based upon the merit of the qualifications prescribed for the respective post.
