The following updates have been added in this release: (1) Update of DTU8. (V5.10→V5.30)

・ The Mixed Window of which a source file and Instruction code can be debugged by displaying them at the same time is added.

・ The value of the variable and the symbol can be changed at the size according to the type. ・ The break condition can be changed during emulating. ・ The option which sets a change permission about the RAM value and the break condition during

emulating was added. ・ The tab of the watch window can be switched during emulation. ・ The function to save IE bit to the file and the function to read the file were added in the simulation mode.

Also, IESAV and IELOD command of the script command which is an equal feature were added. ・ The macro variable which can be used only in the macro was added. ・ The parameter of the DCV command which displays an execution coverage-rate by the file unit and the

function unit was added. ・ The option of the LOD command which updates the measuring range of the execution coverage-rate in

the address range of the loaded program file was added. ・ The parameter of the G command for the RAM data match break setting was added. ・ The script commands SRD1 and SRD2 which set the parameter of the RAM data match break were

added. ・ Dr.U8ICE-V2 was supported. ・ The Real-Time RAM Watch feature was added to the Dr.U8ICE, Dr.U8ICE-V2 and Dr.U16ICE mode. ・ The value of the RAM can be changed in the Real-Time RAM Watch window and the real-time tab of the

Watch window during emulation at the Dr.U8ICE, Dr.U8ICE-V2 and Dr.U16ICE mode. Refer to DTU8 User’s Manual for details.

(2) Update of device information files. ・ The device information files for ML610Q418, ML620Q131/Q132/Q133/Q134/Q135/Q136,

ML620Q416/Q418 and ML620Q503/Q503H are added. ・ The device information files for ML620Q504/Q504H is updated.

(3) Update of CCU8. (V3.51→V3.53)

・ Problems have been fixed. Refer to CCU8’s Readme file for details.

(4) Update of RLU8. (V1.51→V1.52) ・ Problems have been fixed. Refer to MACU8 Assembler Package’s Readme file for details.

(5) Added the manuals of the Chinese version to CD.

・ The MACU8 User’s Manual is added The manuals of the Chinese version are not automatically installed in PC. Please copy from CD if needed. Please see the "4.CD-ROM Contents" of the following page for the storing place of a manual.

When installing the U8/U16 Development Tools, be sure to take the following procedure. In addition, you must be logged on with Administrator privileges upon installation. Step 1: Uninstall an older version of U8/U16 Development Tools If you have an older version of U8 Development Tools or U8/U16 Development Tools installed in your PC, first uninstall it before installing this release. If no older version has been installed, go to step 2. For the uninstallation method, see “6. Uninstallation” below. Step 2: Install this release Insert the U8/U16 Development Tools Setup CD into the CD-ROM drive of your PC. (1) Installing the U8/U16 Development Tools software Run SetupU8Dev_e.exe located in the Setup\U8DevTools\en directory of the Setup CD.

After that, follow the instructions given by the setup program. By default, these will install the software into \Program files\U8Dev directory and create Start|Programs|U8 Tools menu. U8 Tools menu contains sub menu nX-U8 and nX-U8 Documents. nX-U8 menu contains the short-cut to U8/U16 Development Tools software, release note and command-line-prompt. nX-U8 Documents menu contains the short-cut to the manuals for U8/U16 Development Tools software.

(2) Installing the Flash Writer for uEASE (FWuEASE) Run SetupFWuEASE_e.exe located in the Setup\FWuEASE\en directory of the Setup CD.

After that, follow the instructions given by the setup program. By default, these will install the software into \Program files\U8Dev directory and create Start|Programs|U8 Tools menu. U8 Tools menu contains sub menu uEASE. uEASE menu contains the short-cut to FWuEASE software and the short-cut to the manuals for uEASE.

(3) Installing the Multiple Flash Writer for uEASE (MWuEASE) Run SetupMWuEASE_e.exe located in the Setup\MWuEASE\en directory of the Setup CD.

After that, follow the instructions given by the setup program. By default, these will install the software into \Program files\U8Dev directory and create Start|Programs|U8 Tools menu. U8 Tools menu contains sub menu uEASE. uEASE menu contains the short-cut to MWuEASE software and the short-cut to the manuals for uEASE.

(4) Installing the Device Information Files (If you do not use the devices, you do not need to install the files) Notes: The Device Information Files are used for setting up the above tools (the U8/U16 Development Tools

software, FWuEASE and MWuEASE). So install the Device Information Files, after installing the above tools (1), (2) and (3). If you do not install according to the order, the installation may not be correctly.

Run SetupDevInfo_e.exe located in the Setup\U8DevTools\en directory of the Setup CD. After that, follow the instructions given by the setup program. By default, these will install the device information files into \Program files\U8Dev directory.

U8/U16 Development Tools Release Notes (5) Installing the USB driver

When the uEASE or nanoEASE, Dr.U8 ICE, Dr.U8 ICE-V2, Dr.U16 ICE, Dr.ICE is connected to a PC for the first time, installation of the USB driver starts automatically. When the USB driver is installed already, you can skip this step. In this section, it introduces the example of installation on Windows 7 and Vista. However the displayed messages may be different from this document by the difference of environment of your computer. Then, please install the driver according to actual message of your computer.

(5)-1 Installing the USB driver on Windows 7. (a) When the uEASE is connected to a PC for the first time, the following messages will be displayed.

(b) Open [Start] menu, select [Manage] of the context menu on [Computer].

(c) Click the [Device Manager] on [Computer Management] dialog. Then, the device list of your computer will be displayed (The contents of the device list on your computer will be different from this document).

(d) uEASE will be displayed with attention mark. Then select [Update Driver Software...] on the context

menu of uEASE.

(e) The following dialog will be displayed. Then Select [Browse my computer for driver software].

(f) Insert the install CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. And specify Setup\Driver\uEASE folder, then click the

[Next] button.

(g) The dialog for confirming installation will be displayed. Then click the [Install] button. The following dialog will be displayed when installation is successful.

6. Uninstallation

Uninstallation should select the following programs from “Add or Remove Programs” of Control Panel. - U8/U16 Development Tools software: LAPIS Semiconductor U8/U16 Development Tools - Flash Writer for uEASE: LAPIS Semiconductor FWuEASE Flash Writer - Multiple Flash Writer for uEASE: LAPIS Semiconductor MWuEASE Multiple Flash Writer - U8/U16 Device Information Files: LAPIS Semiconductor U8/U16 Device Information Files

If any additional files have been copied to the installation folder, it is possible that a mere uninstallation through Add or Remove Programs cannot delete every file of the Development Tools. In that case, delete the installation folder manually.

7.1 Note on Windows Vista and 7 Please log on with an administrator account when you use U8/U16 Development Tools. And, please set up a privilege level to DTU8 Debugger in the following procedures after installation.

(1) Open [Start] menu, select [Computer]. (2) Display “C:\Program Files\U8dev\Bin” folder (on 32bit windows) or “C:\Program Files (x86)\U8dev

\Bin” folder (on 64bit windows). Then select [Property] on the context menu on DTU8.exe.

(3) Check [Run this program as an administrator] of [Privilege Level].

U8/U16 Development Tools Release Notes 7.2 Note on 64bit version of Windows 7.2.1 Change of the system path of IDEU8 When the IDEU8 is invoked for the first time, the following dialog for setting system path will be displayed. When you use the U8/U16 Development Tools software on 64bit Windows, the system path will be different from the path which installed U8/U16 Development Tools software by default. If you use without changing the system path, U8/U16 Development Tools will not work correctly. So, please set the system path according to the following procedure.

(1) Click [Browse...] button and display the [Browse for Folder] dialog.

On 64bit Windows, U8/U16 Development Tools are installed in the following folder by default. C:\Program Files (x86)\U8Dev

(3) Click the [OK] button. 7.2.2 The notes about the folder of the project file for IDEU8 When the project file for IDEU8 and its folder contain a space character and a 2-byte character, IDEU8 cannot be accessed to the file on the 64-bit version of Windows. Please put a project file on the folder which contains neither a space character nor a 2-byte character. 7.2.3 Common use of the project file for IDEU8 by a 64-bit version of Windows and a 32-bit version of Windows When sharing the project file for IDEU8 by a 64-bit version of Windows and a 32-bit version of Windows, since the file in system folders, such as a start-up file, is not found, an error may happen. Copy such a file to the folder of a project file, and add the file to a project.

U8/U16 Development Tools Release Notes 7.3 About the difference from the checksum value of HTU8 to output At the following LSI, the checksum value of the file which HTU8 outputted differs from the checksum value outputted when MWuEASE reads the file.

At the above-mentioned LSI, in order to make the same the checksum value which HTU8 and MWuEASE output, please specify a /NM option at HTU8 and output a file. The example of description is shown below.

HTU8 hexfile.hex /Tml610101 /NM 7.4 Notes of the account name when logon Don't log on using the account name containing '&'. 7.5 Notes of the file name and path name Don’t specify the file name or path name containing a 2-byte character and a space character. When these characters are included, it cannot build normally.
