Zero Exponent Rule:  anything raised to the zero power = 1

There are two important rules of exponents to remember ...

Negative Exponent Rule:  negative exponents must be moved to the other part of the fraction (if it starts in the numerator, move it to the denominator ... if it starts in the denominator, move it to the numerator)
