TERM 1 Week 9 GOOD COUNSEL PRIMARY SCHOOL 26th March, 2019 Dear Parents/Carers, Many thanks to those parents/carers who have logged in and requested an interview on PTO (Parent Teacher Online). Being a new system for Good Counsel Primary School, there have been initial teething problems but thanks to Mrs Annette Dunne and the staff, most issues have been worked through. Our aim is to ensure that all families have an interview regarding their child/ childrens progress for Term 1. The majority of interviews will take place in the Library and Theatrette with Prep and Year 6H utilising their classrooms. If you are unsure please check with staff prior to your allotted appointment. Changing the interview time from 10 minutes to 15 minutes has been very positively received by both staff and parents thus far. This Friday, following the Year 3 assembly, we will have an informal Meet and Greet for parents/carers of students with Aboriginal/ Torres Strait Islander background. The purpose of the meeting is to gain some input around our NAIDOC and Reconciliation celebrations for Good Counsel Primary School in 2019. Mrs Naqicatabua will explain her role as Indigenous Liaison Officer and how she supports students learning here at school. Next week we have two big sporting events. On Wednesday, students will compete in the Interhouse Cross Country. Dependent on the weather, we hope to hold the event at Warrina Lakes. If there is a change we may be forced to have it on our school site as in 2018. We will let all families know next week as to the venue. On the last day of term, we are hosting all the team events for our Interhouse Athletics Carnival. This year all athletic events need to be completed by early Term 2 as the National Titles will be held in Darwin mid year. This has meant a big change to all schoolsathletics days.
