U-HACK @ GOLF

Here are some highlights from U-HACK for 2004. Enjoy.

Many of us hackers had been playing with the Belden Golf Association for 10+ years. The company name had changed over the years from AT&T to Lucent

Technologies, to CSI and finally Belden. This golf league was begat from Ma Bell.

In 2004, Belden went out of business and telephone cable manufacturing was shipped overseas. 1500+ employees were laid off and the golf league was kaput.

After a few months some of us got together to try and revive the fun golf.

The 1st ever U-HACK event July 2004 was at Grayhawk!

Of course we knew zero, nada, nothing about running a tournament. We just knew we liked to golf and enjoyed getting together with friends.

We’re on a roll now but still don’t know what we are doing. Lot’s of hackers at The Duke in October 2004.

Don Harris was our first winner of low net!

Ken McDonald in December 2004. Joe Waskel won low net.

A few fits and starts, but it looks like we are off and running.

We’ll see what we can do to arrange a monthly schedule.
