Counterfeit vs Genuine Medicine

Genuine medicine are produced from manufacturers that are accred-ited with GMP (Good Manufactur-ing Practices). Genuine medicine consist of 3 main criteria: SAFE, EFFECTIVE and QUALITY.

• Expired, Spoilt and Not suitable for use anymore

The award was presented in conjunc-tion with the World Anti-Counterfeiting Day organized by Union des Fabricans in Paris, France on the 28th of May 2013.

Why is counterfeit medicine harmful? • It can cause undesirable side

effects or allergies that may exacerbate the disease

• No healing effects if the active compounds are wrongly used or insufficient

• If the medicine is antibiotic which contains active com-pound / insufficient dosage, it can cause an antibiotic resis-tance and the resistance may spread to others

• Wrong and dangerous active compound can cause harmful effects, such as death

How to avoid buying counterfeit medicine?

• Know your medicine • Purchase your medicine from

the registered pharmacy • Do not purchase any medicine

from any unauthorized shops / stalls

• Be careful when buying medi-cine which has suspicious packaging

• Review and read the product label and information leaflet

• Ensure that you buy medicine that is REGISTERED with MOH with numbered MAL and genuine HOLOGRAM MEDITAG

What is e-mass? e-MASS (Electronic Medical Automation Supply System) is a system operate by Oratis Services Sdn. Bhd. It serves as an intermediary to facilitate retirees and those who are eligible for medical sup-plies and medical equipment that the Hospital / Government Clinics are not able to provide . Who is eligible? Those eligible are RETIREES:- • Federal Civil Servants • Members of the Parliament • Members of the Administrator • Federal Political Secretary • High Court, Appeal and Federal Judge

Documents that are required: A) Medicine Request : 1. Medical Form 1/09* 2. A valid prescription* B) Medical Equipment Request : 1. Medical Form 1/09* 2. Doctor Verifiction Note* 3. Quotation *one (1) copy only *A valid Medical Form 1/09 and Prescription by a Doctor from Government Hospital/ Clinic only. Retirees are advised to bring along Identity Card/Retirees Card to facilitate the review of eligibility status

Application Process

Retiree send the drug application by post, fax, email, service counter or online upload to Portal.

Application received will be processed by Oratis Services.

Drugs will be couriered to retiree’s house by ‘Pos Laju’ service within 4 working days.

Retiree bring complete application form to com-munity pharmacy which registered with e-mass.

Pharmacist will review the retiree’s eligibility through the Portal e-mass.

Community pharmacy will supply the drug to retiree on the spot with the eligible subsidy with-out any payment.

Retiree/hospital/vendor will send complete ap-plication form through post, fax, email, service counter or online upload to Portal.

Application received will be processed by Oratis Services.

Purchase order for eligi-ble retiree’s application will be given to vendor within 4 working days.

When receiving the pur-chase order, vendor will send the medical equip-ment to the hospital be-fore the operation date.
