LEVIATHAN GARGOYLE SWARM POINTS: 125 + MODELS When Hive Fleet Leviathan descends upon a planet the hordes of fanged creatures are preceded by dark clouds of leather-winged Gargoyle swarms that blanket the skies. Unlatching themselves from the bellies of monstrous Harridans, flocks of Gargoyles spiral down to attack the prey below, their membranous wings blocking out the sun, creating a black shadow that plunges the enemy into darkness. Panic and confusion reign amongst the enemy ranks moments before the Gargoyles fire their deadly bio-weapons and the slaughter begins. Whilst the massive Harridans glide and circle high above the battlefield, it is not unknown for them to accompany their Gargoyle broods as they dive towards their target, scything through their victims with gigantic talons. After the swarm has shattered the enemy defences the Harridans cry out a piercing screech and in answer the Gargoyles flock to cling to their undersides. Leaving the scattered corpses of their prey in their wake the beasts outstretch their leathery wings and ascend into the skies, soaring across the battlefield before once more plunging into the terrified ranks of fresh prey. FORMATION: 4+ Gargoyle Broods* 0+ Harridans * Each Gargoyle Brood must have a minimum of 20 models. One Gargoyle Brood must be designated as the Vanguard Brood. SPECIAL RULES: A Leviathan Gargoyle Swarm is always placed in strategic reserve. When the formation arrives it will do so by Deep Strike. The Vanguard Brood is deployed first, using the normal rules for Deep Strike. All the remaining units in the Leviathan Gargoyle Swarm are then placed within 6" of the Vanguard Swarm as per Deep Strike, but will not scatter. Note that Harridans in a Leviathan Gargoyle Swarm can Deep Strike. When the Leviathan Gargoyle Swarm first arrives place a counter (or other suitable marker) next to the Vanguard Swarm. In your opponent’s next Shooting phase, all units within 24" of the centre of this marker must use the rules for Night Fighting when attempting to fire. The Leviathan Gargoyle Swarm is able to swoop through the air to descend upon fresh prey across the battlefield. Once per game, all the models in the formation can make a free Strategic Redeployment.
