The Act• The Indian Gaming Regulatory Act states three

types of Slot machine games

• All three of them come with a different regulatory scheme for each

Three Types/Classes

• Class I

• Class II

• Class III

Class I• These slot machines are be used in traditional

Indian gaming.

• Class I slot machines may be a part of tribal celebrations as well as ceremonies.

• These slot machines can be used for home gatherings as well.

Class I• These slot machines are also used for carrying

out social gaming events for minimal prizes.

• Regulatory authority over Class I slot gaming is vested exclusively in tribal governments .

• These machines are not subject to IGRA's requirements.

Class II• Commonly known as the game of chance or

bingo.

• It includes non-banked card games in which the player plays against other players rather than against the house or a player while acting as a bank.

• This type of slot machines does not include the "game of chance" as per mentioned by the legislation of United States.

Class II• Tribes still retain the authority to conduct,

license, and regulate class II gaming.

• But the Tribes must comply with the Act based on regulations provided by Tribal government which again follows all the ordinances approved by the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC).

• Hawaii and Utah restricts Class II Slot games in their lands.
