Beginning and Growth

• Dorsey, then an undergraduate student at NYU, introduced the idea of an individual

using an SMS service to communicate with a small group

• First name: Twttr

• Rapid growth: 400,000 tweets per quarter

• About 10.75 million fake users

1. Lady Gaga has 32% fake followers
