Twitter Key characteristics• Twitter is an online social networking service that enables users to

send and read short 140-character messages called "tweets". Registered users can read and post tweets, but unregistered users can only read them.

• Main key characteristics:– 271 million monthly active users, 500 million Tweets are sent per day– Twitter is a relationship building and relationship maintenance tool;

the most obvious business use of Twitter is to meet potential customers and leads the same way you would at networking event or tradeshow. However, you can also use it to: Develop and promote your brand, Interact with your customer base, Track what people are saying about your company and brand, Create buzz around upcoming events, enable employees to post on behalf of a company, Promote other content you’ve created, including webinars, blog posts or podcasts, Develop direct relationships with bloggers and journalists for potential PR placement
