Splits Course with Lauren Red

One of the best ways to improve the way your pole dancing looks and

feels is to increase your flexibility. Not only does an increased flexibility and stretching improve your quality of life, it also reduces the likelihood of injury

and muscle pain due to a fuller range of movement in your joints.

The amazing Lauren Red takes our flex-ibility classes and will introduce you to safe and fun stretching methods and ways to increase your back flexibility

and both front and box splits as well as stretching for other muscles if you have

any requests.

We have splits courses running for 6 weeks at only £40. Our next course

Laura Brown My Twisted Pole journey started June 2011. I was organising a hen party for my friend. As she’s Polish we thought it would be funny to have a go at Pole Dancing; I like a good pun :) I found Twisted Pole and instantly liked it, i’d had a look at other pole companies in Nottingham but Twisted stood out and offered the best package for our evening, plus Hannah was so lovely to deal with! Ten of us took part and we all gave it a good go. We had so much fun and learnt quite a few moves. I remember the day after not being able to move my arms above my head, but it was worth it! It wasn’t really until late July that myslef and Grazia- a fellow Twisted Trouper and hen party partaker decided we wanted

to return to Twisted because we had pole withdrawel symptons. So we signed up for the begin-ners course and quickly progressed. I knew from then on that pole dancing would be my new hobby and now addiction lol I absolutely love pole! and have met some really awesome people! everyone is so lovely and welcoming. Hannah and Cat are fantastic instructors, but not only that, friends :)

My new pole goal is to achieve the knee hold and really nail my twisted grip handsping; and i know with both Hannah and my other pole buddies supporting me anything is possible! Twisted Meow love x

Melissa ThompsonI first became interested in pole dancing when I finished university. I had been part of an improvised comedy troupe for three years, and knew I was sorely

going to miss having a creative outlet. A friend of mine that I met just before I finished my degree was a pole dancer, and the more she enthused about it, the more curious I became. I was keen to become more fit, and so after looking around for pole teachers in Nottingham, eventually I gathered up the courage to email Hannah and go along to a starter course.

I was a little nervous at first; I admit that despite having a friend who danced, I was a bit concerned that it would be like what is perhaps the stereotypical image of pole dancers, which would have me wearing huge stiletto heels. Thankfully, it wasn’t at all; Hannah was an incred-ibly friendly and welcoming teacher, and I felt instantly relaxed.

While I at first found it very difficult to do anything, one of the most rewarding things I’ve found with pole danc-ing is finally getting that move you’ve been working on.

It’s often a little painful and I personally bruised like a peach at first, but the satisfaction of finally understanding how a spin works, or being able to hold yourself in a static move, is phenomenal. I’ve never been someone who was keen on exercising, but I have so much fun at Twisted Pole that it doesn’t even feel like you’re working out, despite what the aching muscles say the next day!

I’ve made some amazing friends through pole and I’ve had some absolutely incredible experiences because of it-- I really think that emailing Hannah and starting up dancing at Twisted Pole was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life.

At the moment, I don’t really have any moves that I’d really like to work towards, but I’m determined to improve the strength of my handspring, and increase the length of time that I can hold it for. Pole dancing has definitely improved my life in several dif-ferent ways, and I can’t wait to see what else comes from it!

Twisted Trouper of the Month

The poler of the month is some-one who has really excelled and shown great progress throughout the month and in general. Please pass all your suggestions on to us of who you think deserves to be the Twisted Trouper of next month.

As winner of this title the poler will receive a certificate and a Twisted Pole towel.

May 2012Gee UhmCongratulations to Gee Uhm who is this month’s winner!!!

Gee started pole dancing about 3 months ago. Since starting she has gone from strength to strength quickly learning spins and building up her strength both in class and outside by ensuring she keeps doing press ups and practicing at home. She is a bit of a daredevil and has been push-ing herself as much as she can in order to achieve the pole moves that she places as her goals. Last week she managed to get her knee hold as seen on the right.

Everyone always knows when Gee is practicing a new move or an old one that still hurts because she is so loud! But we love it!!

Well done Gee!!
