St Macartin’s Cathedral Harvest Service (Church of Ireland) The Dean extends a very warm welcome to any of St Michael’s parishioners who would like to join in a ‘Community Harvest’ Service to be held in St Macartin’s Cathedral on Sunday 8th October at 7.00pm. The Cathedral will be decorated with flowers, fruit, vegetables and symbols of the harvest as we show our appre-ciation to God for his goodness to us. A night of Taize style prayer and Reflection led by Brother Jean Marie from the Taize Community in France will be held on Monday 16th October at 7.30pm in St Michael’s Church. All welcome especially young people who have travelled with Clogher don Óige to Taize over recent years and those interested in travelling in 2018.
Bereavement Support Group: St Michael’s Parish in conjunction with CRUSE Bereavement Care will facilitate a 6-week support group for bereaved persons. This support group will be of help to those who are finding it difficult after the death of someone close. It will take place on Tuesdays at 7.30pm in St Michael’s Parish Centre, commencing on Tuesday 24th October. We welcome people of all faiths and those of none. Anniversary Masses for 2018
St Michael’s Anniversary Mass Book for 2018 will be open for booking in the Side Sacristy from
Wednesday 11th October after 10.00am Mass
1. The 6.00pm Vigil Mass on Saturday is reserved for Month’s Mind Masses.
2. The 12.00pm Sunday Mass is reserved for First Anniversary Masses.
3. Up to two anniversaries maybe booked for 10.00am weekday morning Mass.
4. The Diocesan offering for a public Mass is £20.
5. To allow as many as possible to book family anniversary Mass, parishioners are requested insofar as possible to book only
one Mass for all deceased members of their family.
10.00am Morning Mass Intentions and Funerals: On the rare occasion that there may be a funeral at the 10.00am Mass, we will
remember those whose names appear in the Parish Messenger for the 10.00am Mass and also include the name of the deceased
person.
SATURDAY 7TH OCTOBER - FEAST OF HOLY ROSARY Today’s celebration urges us all to meditate on the mysteries of Christ, following the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary who was in a special manner associated with the incarnation, Passion and glorious Resurrection of the Son of God. As October is the month of the Holy Rosary we encourage people to meditate and pray the Rosary - a selection of rosary beads and booklets are available from the Parish Shop. The Holy Rosary is prayed each morning after 10.00am Mass and on Monday to Friday at 6.00pm in St Michael’s Church or
join in with us via the Parish Webcam.
