January 2020
The Little Church with the big heart.
What are you doing, O Magi? Do you
adore a little Babe, in a wretched hovel,
wrapped in miserable rags? Can this
Child be truly God? … Are you become
foolish, O Wise Men … Yes, these Wise
Men have become fools that they may
be wise.

TRINITY CHAPEL
“Another year over,
and a new one just begun…”
What will this new year bring for Trinity
Chapel? For me it is a year of last things.
I have just completed my last Christmas season
with you and I know that my last Easter here is
not too far away. So as each day passes I feel
more acutely this time of transition.
It is, of course a time of transition for you as
well. The next few months will be busy for
our vestry whose new members will be elected
at our Annual meeting on February 2.
We will we looking closely at the work that
goes on here and determining who has
responsibility for what. What might I be doing
that a lay person really could and should do?
What can we reasonably ask of a new priest
coming in who may have charge of two
parishes, or who may not live next door?
Soon we will begin some conversations with
St. Mark’s church in Westford about a
potential partnership, and how we could make
such a thing work well for both small
congregations.
I trust God to lead us to where we need to be.
You will discover the way forward that will not
only bring survival, but joy and growth. I will
gently step back and discover what is the new
thing that awaits me in retirement in Maine.
But for now we have important work to do.
It’s new year and a new decade. May all the
work that we do help to make the love of God
papable in this world. May we be true bearers
of Christ to this divided and fearful age;
bringers of light, and positive change.
Marsha
2020 Sounds like something big!
I know some people ( my sister is one of them)
are saddened by the start of a new year and
the end of the old. For myself, I am always
hopeful, it’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a
new year and anything and everything is
possible.
Faith teaches us to follow the light. The wise
men followed the light. They were trained to
trust in their insight, to trust what they know is
true, to trust in the still small voice within. The
New Year gives us the opportunity to follow
that same light. We know deep within what is
true. As Christ followers, (Christians) we are
called to bring forth that light into our own
world and the world of others. We are called
to let that light shine, such that all will know
we belong to one another.
If ever there was a season and a time to
embrace and follow that light it is now. The
future looks very dark and dangerous, filled
with earthly ravages that create enormous fear
in many. We must be strong in our light and
share the light with as many as we can.
As we move into 2020 we pray that we will be
strong followers and beacons of that light,
discerning truth and sharing love in a way that
can truly change the world!
Go bless us on our Journey into Light

Thanks to Geralyn Miller, whom Gaynor
recruited to re-create it. It is still in its Beta-

know what you think. Very soon we will have
a training with Geralyn for people who would
like to learn how to add material to the
calendar and make other updates. If you’d like
to be one of these folks, contact Marsha
