The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the world’s leading professional event dedicated to the children’s publishing industry attracting over 1,400 exhibitors and around 30,000 visitors from around 80 countries and regions. Since 1963, it is held yearly in March or April in Bologna, Italy. It is also the event where a number of major awards are given, such as the BolognaRagazzi Awards, the Hans Christian Andersen Awards and the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. Over the past 57 years, it has been the world’s premium copyright exchange hub when it comes to publishing, also extending to current multimedia and licensing businesses for children’s stories, illustration, animation and related areas. A unique and diverse global audi- ence, such as publishers, illustrators, graphic designers, literary agents, authors, translators, app developers, packagers, distributors, audio book professionals, booksellers, librarians and teachers, flock to the event each spring to experience the world of books and multimedia products in thousands of booths.
