Mise-en-scene - Locations Sets Lighting Costume Sherlock Homes are set in Baker street, London. Baker street is a good place to film because that’s where it was based in the books so this will appeal to the people that have read the book. Also in Sherlock Homes the costumes are modern and they suit the 21 st century and this gives the programme a different angle rather of being set in the last century. The lighting in Sherlock Homes changes from dark and moody to bright and colourful they have done this because when they are at the crime scene the mood will be dark and scary. When he trying to find the killer the mood of the programme chances because you see the process of Sherlock brain as you can see the different ideas that goes to his head as he finds the evidence. Sound Key dialogue Sound effects Music The sound in Sherlock Homes changes from dramatic music to fast beat music because then they are in the crime scene. Scary tense music will be playing in the background however when they are catching someone the music will have a higher tempo because the scene is going dramatic and at a faster pace. The target audience of Sherlock Homes is anyone because it appeals to any audience. Also Sherlock homes will appeal to teenager because it a crime drama with a twist as this Sherlock Homes is very modern and set in present day. Older people will like this programme because it is well made and well scripted. Overall Sherlock Homes gives people the feeling that Sherlock is getting rid of the bad guys in the world.
