Actually they stayed there for extended periods of time and in most cases returned frequently to deepen their knowledge. In addition we lived and worked for many years in various countries throughout the world.

We use a work methodology that has proven successful since many years. Consultants run the gamut from the large, “name brand” consulting companies (with corresponding prices) to the unemployed person who became a “consultant” until he/she finds his/her next job. In addition, there exist consultants who claim to be subject-matter experts in all areas and assert to be able to consult effectively on any range of given topics. In reality they don’t possess the expertise and have very limited practical know-how. We do not fall into these categories.

We are a highly specialized “boutique” advisory firm that is very focused. Our expertise is international business development. That’s what we are really good at, and our level of expertise in this specialty field is unique and very hard to find anywhere else. There is a need for Real-World Experience & ExpertiseUniversities and executive training programs commonly teach "international business". Such studies, courses and seminars are valuable, but generally do not distinguish between how to perform business in Africa, how to penetrate European Union markets, selling to potential customers in Sao Paulo, Brazil, or marketing to buyers in Moscow, bundling all international business into one package. The majority of such studies focus on procedures, compliance, political systems, socio-demographics, and general intl. business practices. 

While such education is surely positive and establishing a good basic understanding of international trade, those studies are absolutely no substitute for real-world experience, know-how and genuine hands-on expertise. More than often faculty never really worked in real-world executive functions. In addition, intl. trade consultation is provided by various organizations, universities, and government agencies. Those services are helpful to establish some very basic minimum requirements and understanding, but don’t provide specific know-how and actual sales & marketing expertise, and can’t substitute real-world global business know-how that can only be obtained through years of practical hands-on international sales & marketing experience. 

There is a big difference between theory and practice. The absence of such real-world “boots-on-the-ground” know-how, and not utilizing expertise that is specific to actually penetrating a market with all necessary activities and details that must be observed, often results in companies using the trial and error method, a great recipe for failure.
