Keep Safe Everyone!
15thJune 2019
Learning Through Fun!
With no swimming activity to report, we decided to publish additional Newsletters with plenty of activities to hopefully keep you amused during these difficult times. So keep sending us your letters, photos and stories to the Turtles E-mail address, and
our Newsletter Editor, Dave Lee, will endeavour to publish additional Newsletters to keep us all in touch with one and other. I miss Turtles very much and hope to see everyone
soon. In the meantime, stay safe and look after
yourselves. Alison Grey, Chair.
THANK YOU TESCO!!!!
A big thank you to Tesco Groundwork UK for their generous donation to the Ruislip Turtles.
We are very grateful to receive £1166 from Tesco at this extremely difficult time.
Congratulations to our Chair, Alison Grey, who worked so hard to secure this grant.
Our application was based on the training and development needs of our current and future pool helpers and teachers.
Before the lockdown, we were well advanced in the process of recruiting additional pool personnel for our Saturday sessions and we will hope to pick this back up once we return to the pool.
But good news, just when we all need it!
Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold our usual AGM event due to Covid-19 and social distancing guidance. Instead we are following the Charities Commission guidance and we will instead be holding a virtual Annual General Meeting. The usual reports will be sent out very shortly in a separate Newsletter and if you have any comments or questions, you will have 28 days to communicate with us by email before the official business is concluded by video conference. Similarly, if you would like a copy of the full accounts rather than just the summary, you can request a copy by email. Sad that we cannot enjoy the social get together and our fun awards evening, but hopefully we may be able to reschedule the Annual Club Championships later this year, assuming that the world returns to some semblance of normality!

LET US KNOW HOW YOU ALL ARE!
Hello Highgrove Turtles!
How is everyone? These days I have been bouncing on my trampoline. I also did some gardening and saw some worms and snails. From Ayan
Hi Dave
Thank you for your reply. I feel very
happy & very safe.
What types of activities do you do at
home to keep busy? Well done for
going for a walk & keeping fit. I go out
in the garden to get some fresh air.
When it’s safe, I could go for a walk
outside. I could also go for a walk to
the park & to the shops. What shops
do you miss going to? I like going to
supermarkets. I miss going to garden
centres. Did you manage to try your
bikes out this week? I had a zoom call
with my family from Vancouver,
Geneva, Toronto & Calgary last night.
I liked seeing all the family & that
made me feel happy. I like Sky News.
I watch all my programmes, shows &
videos & listen to music on my laptop
to keep occupied. When we get back
to swimming lessons in the future, I’ll
look forward to watching how Cheryl
moves her mouth when she speaks. I
think I like that because my favourite
song is Head, Shoulders, Knees &
Toes & eyes & ears & mouth & nose.
When we work in swimming
together, she’d like to tell me to start
tilting my head back if she is helping.
We’re praying for the virus to go
away.
Our two most qualified teachers have been adding even more swimming qualifications. Jordan has passed: Visually Impaired Swimming CPD, Deaf Friendly CPD, Introduction to Disability Swim-ming CPD. Jordan is also taking: Competitive Diving Fundamentals CPD, Introduction to Para Swimming CPD. Cheryl is taking: Disability Swimming CPD. Integrating Autistic swimming into mainstream swimming CPD.
Congratulations!
