Update From Your LTG
Happy Summer, Turquoise!
As we shed our turtle shell backpacks and reach for the beach towels and sunscreen (Or umbrellas and hot cocoa? Weather in VC County keeps you on your toes!), I want to wish you all a marvelous, productive summer and thank you for making the beginning of my term a blast. I had SO much fun meeting all of you at the banquet and DCM/OTC in May (recap below!), and it makes me proud beyond belief to see all the service and fundraising you have accomplished in just under two months. Keep up the astounding work and be sure to stay checked in with your club to see what they have planned for the summer!
What will I be doing this summer, you ask? For the most part I’ll be here in T-Town getting my tan on (hah, more like nap on), aside from a 3-week trip in August to tour colleges. Ooh, it’s still a little scary saying that. Any other rising seniors feeling the college chaos setting in yet?
In case I haven’t stressed this enough, I want to emphasize the importance of staying involved throughout these next few months. I know we’re all recharging from finals and APs and SATs, but what better way to do so than with your fellow-shelled friends? So hop on your club’s social media or email list and ask what’s crack-a-lackin’ in Summer 2K15! I can’t wait to see what we do during this season of fun and sun. As always, you all make me a proud mama turtle.
In Caring and Service,
Elise Umetsu
Cal-Nev-Ha KIWIN’S Turquoise Lieutenant Governor 2015-2016

Member of the Month
Dylan Reese (Pictured in middle of the turtle sandwich above) CONGRATULATIONS DYLAN!! Dylan was selected as Turquoise’s June Member of the Month because of his constant dedication to all things KIWIN’S. You can always catch him at club and divisional events. In the past
few weeks he has served up meals at the Oxnard Rescue Mission, traversed the shoreline for trash at Camarillo’s beach cleanup, added his artistic touch on posters for ELIMINATE
Week, splashed around at the Turquoise Banquet, and shown his spirit at the first DCM/OTC. He always has a positive attitude and is willing to contribute however he can.
Turquoise is lucky to have you in our family, Dylan!
