Environmental - Endangered Species

• In-water Endangered Species Protection

Manatees, Sea Turtles, Marine Mammals and Smalltooth Sawfish

–No dredging between May 1 – June 30

–Observers during 24/7 operations

–All personnel educated on the manatees, sea turtles and sawfish protection

–STOP WORK until animal is beyond the 50-ft. radius or 30 minutes has passed since you’ve seen the animal within the 50-ft. radius

–All vessels operate at “no wake/idle” speeds during construction

–Turbidity curtains must have eight (8) inch gap at the bottom

and be constantly monitored for entanglements
