CUNY Started out as a free institution

Eventually a 31% increase of tuition was occurring

Tuition Hikes:

• State budget cuts decreased CUNY budget by $205 million dollars the past 3 yrs, for 2012 another $300 million will be cut

Leads to

$300 increase of tuition annually
