London SE3 0TP Telephone: 020-8852 1601 Headteacher: Mr Michael Roach Deputy Head: Ms Julia McCrossen Business Manager: Mrs Julie Joyce Dear Parents/Carers, As we have now welcomed all your children into nursery I’d like to take this opportunity to let you know what we have planned this term. Weeks 1 and 2 (11 th -22 nd Sept) have been focused around settling in and introducing the children to a new routine. The children have had a wonderful time meeting their classmates and teachers for the coming year. All of them are settling well and trying new activities. Week 3 (25 th -29 th sept) we will be starting to look at ourselves and where we come from. This will be a good opportunity for us all to discover more about each other. Week 4 (2 nd -6 th Oct) will be all about animals as it is World Animal Day; we will be moving around like animals and making different animal noises to link with the start of our phonics work. Week 5 (9 th -13 th Oct) we will be looking at our Golden Rules which are connected to well know traditional tales and the school’s Unicef Rights Respecting. We will also be exploring our feelings and emotions during this week which you can also get involved with at home. Week 6 (16 th -20 th ) includes World Food Day and Diwali so we will be cooking most days. If you would like to come in and do some cooking with the children please speak to one of the nursery staff about this. Important dates Monday 25 th September INSET DAY
