NEW SLETTER SKYLINE HIGH Term: 1 | Issue 11 | Date: April 10, 2018 FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK Dear Parents, This year we will be marching in the ANZAC Day Parade. The children assemble at 8.45am in Macauley Street on the North side of Dean Street (as per previous years). At the end of the March, the children will turn left onto Townsend Street to be collected by parents. This area is always hectic so I ask that parents help to keep an eye out for their children. All students are to wear their formal winter uniform. If students are wearing their family member's medals, they must be worn on the right side of their chest. This week we are holding our Kinder Information morning for new families wishing to enrol their child in 2019. We would encourage existing families who wish to enrol their child in Kinder 2019 to collect an enrolment package from the office. All enrolment applications must be submitted by Friday, 11 May. We will break for end of term holidays this Friday at 3.10pm. We wish all our families a safe and happy holiday and remind you that students return to school on Tuesday, 1 May. MESSAGE FROM OUR SCHOOL COUNCILI would like to take the opportunity to introduce the St Anne's School Council for 2018.

As a council we meet monthly to discuss various items and matters that relate to the organisat ion and operat ion of the school and its many associated events.

We have a very dedicated group of people who sit on the council in their various roles, including representat ion from the Sacred Heart Parish, the teachers and the parent group.

Father Mart in provides valuable input into the council and stays up to date with St Annes through his role on the council. The teacher representat ives are Mr Bede Hart, Mrs Liz Johnstone and Ms Elicia Turner. The parent representat ives are Jennifer Hodges, Janelle Ward, Jason Maskell, Rachael Muntz and Jacqui Wood.

I would also like to acknowledge the many years of dedicat ion provided by Ian Aldrich in his role as Secretary, who stepped down at the end of 2017. Many thanks Ian for your valuable contribut ions.

As parents, I would encourage you to have a voice through the above people, if you feel you would like any matters raised at a school council level.

A separate note was sent home with the eldest child in each family today regarding involvement in the Parent Interest Groups. Please register your interest and we look forward to your involvement ? both new and exist ing parents - in our school community.

Many thanks

Mick Redfern

FUNDRAISING NEWS

2017 was another successful fundraising year!

We thank everyone who participated in fundraising events through attending or sponsorship. We send out our gratitude to all those who helped at the events through the year. Fund raising proceeds from 2017 were used to purchase classroom furniture.

Our committee has met twice this year to commence planning for 2018. The FUNdraising Committee has planned a calendar of events that provides a range of social and fundraising opportunities for students and families to participate in. There is no expectation that every family participate in every event, we hope that our calendar will allow you to consider which events suit your family?s situation.

Would you l ike t o par t icipat e?

The FUNdraising Committee meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm. We would be delighted to welcome any new members to join us on the organising committee. We aim to spread the workload by taking turns to coordinate events. We have already started to explore some exciting new events for next year so welcome your participation. If committee is not your thing but you would be willing to help at any of the events listed please contact the coordinators listed above or leave your name at the office. We would particularly appreciate anyone who is willing to help with end of term barbecues as most of our committee are working during school time.
