such as post top, bridge, roadway underpass or tunnel lighting. HighHorse Induction lamps have been tested under the

The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (“EERE”) at the US Department of Energy (“DOE”) has recently issued guidance relating to the Buy American Provisions of the Recovery Act. EERE issued the attached (i) Guidance on Manufactured Goods and Substantial Transformation for Financial Assistance Awards on May 24, 2010 (“Guidance”) and (ii) Memorandum of Decision granting a waiver of Section 1605 for Induction Lamps and Generators on August 11, 2010 (“Waiver”). The Guidance and Waiver are applicable to projects receiving financial assistance under the Recovery Act and are in effect until further notice from the DOE.
Applying the terms of the Waiver, Fulham’s induction lamps and generators are categorically exempt from the Buy American Provisions. Please use the matrix below in determining the applicability of the Buy American Provisions to the constituent parts provided by Fulham for New or Retrofit Induction Fixtures.

All types of Inductance (Self/Mutual/Partial/Loop/Loop Mutual) are directly related to the number of magnetic fields around a conducter per amp of current; it requires special equipment to measure inductance. Fulham Retro-fit Engineering Services is equipped to measure and mitigate the effects of Inductance which ultimately can produce failure of the system when not considered in the design of an Induction fixture. All Fulham engineered systems are certified to operate properly relative to Inductance, Thermal, and overall fixture efficacy.

As with all electronic equipment, Fulham Induction Systems have a peak current shortly after the mains is switched on; while this is a momentary condition it is important to calculate the total load during this peak current demand. It is advised to use C-type MCBs in lighting installations with electronic ballasts. If it is absolutely necessary to connect more than the specified maximum number of fixtures based on peak demand contact a Licensed Electrician and consider a relay in the wiring circuit to limit the number of activated fixtures at one time.

Rated Lumen Maintenance Chart
Rated Lumen Maintenance is largely determined by operating temperature of the lamp and quality of lamp design; Fulham HighHorse induction systems are designed and manufactured with high quality tri-phosphors and solid amalgam to optimize the performance and rated life of the lamp. The above chart is intended to represent an average rated lumen output stated as a percentage of the initial lumen output over the rated life of the lamp. Operating the lamp within the temperatures specifcation will typically result in not less than 70% lumen output at 60Khrs.
HighHorse induction systems operate within a wide range of ambient; the chart is an example of a 100W induction system operated at extreme cold temperature. It is recommended if the system requires a cold start at -30°C that a thermal blanket be installed at the factory on the amalgam tip; this will ensure a consistent start and rapid stabilization of the lamp and lumen output.
Note: Closed fixture example, actual performance varies with fixture types.
