2017 BIshop’s lenten appeal

For the Bishop’s Lenten Appeal, we have 868 pledges, for a total of 316,768. This is 71% of our parish goal of $445,000. Thank you to all who have responded. Pledge envelopes are available in the church narthex. Offices and ministries receiving funding from the 2017 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal include: The Spanish Apostolate and the Office of Multicultural Ministries, which promotes the evangelization, education, and pastoral needs of the Hispanic Catholics in our diocese. 36 parishes currently offer Spanish Mass. The Office of Multicultural Ministries supports a variety of events, convocations and programs designed to promote accessibility of ministries to the various ethnic communities within our diocese. • Diocesan/Parish Properties and Land Development. The diocese acquires land that is granted to newly founded parishes for their parish grounds. • Diocesan Communications Office. The Office of Communications uses a variety of mediums to promote, educate and evangelize the faithful and wider community. This office coordinates and promotes the Lenten initiative The Light is On, where parishes stay open on Wednesday evenings to offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation. They also bring pertinent news stories to the public while forging closer links and greater awareness among members of our diocesan family.

The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

5 Car raFFleDid you realize that each ticket has a chance to win cash drawings and 5 vehicles? When a winner is drawn, their name goes back into the drum for subsequent drawings. What a deal! And, the money helps to pay for our church and renovated activities center.

A special “thanks” to all who continue to pick up extra tickets. We have paid for the Civic and most of the Verano!

Pray for the Elect (the unbaptized) who are preparing for Baptism during this Lenten period of purification and enlightenment.
