ised, you have to be very selective about what you give your time and attention to. You have to recognize which thoughts to ignore, which com-ments to ignore, and sometimes, which people

to ignore. Every “battle” that comes across your path is not a battle that you’re supposed to fight.

Many battles are simply distractions to try to lure you off course. If that battle is not between

you and your God-given destiny, it’s a battle you should ignore.

Many people get thrown off course because they are always trying to straighten everyone

else out or win their approval. But if that’s your focus, you are wasting valuable time and energy that you should be using to pursue your dreams. Turn away from that distraction! You don’t need the approval of everyone around you; you only

Joshua chapter six tells the story about how the odds were stacked against Joshua and the

people of Israel. They were standing at the mas-sive walls of Jericho that many thought were

impenetrable.

I’m sure as he was standing before the well-for-tified walls and gates of the city, many around him didn’t think his future was too bright. But

you see Joshua had something others over-looked; he had the promise of Almighty God. Joshua had faith because He knew God was on His side, and God had already determined the

victory. Sure enough, just as God promised, the people marched around the city for six days, and on the seventh day, they shouted the vic-

tory and the walls came tumbling down!

Today, don’t look at the walls in your life; look at the promise of God. He is for you, and if

God is for you, nothing can stand against you. Get a vision of victory and don’t let it go. Keep moving forward in faith and obedience know-ing that when you do, the Most High God is on

God’s desire is that we continually progress, that we reach higher heights and go to new levels. Oftentimes, as soon as we make the decision to step out in faith and obey God, the enemy brings in fear to try to stop us. He’ll bring thoughts

like, “What if you fail? What are other people going to think? You don’t have what it takes.” He’ll do his best to use fear to

try to convince us to shrink back and stay where we are.

The Bible says that fear is a spirit. It plays on our emotions and holds us back. But the good news is that we have power over fear! The Bible says that perfect love casts out all fear.

When we receive God’s perfect love, we will have confidence about the future because we know His plans are for our

good. I’ve heard it said that fear is an acronym for False Evi-dence Appearing Real. Understand that fear is a lie. Today, choose to believe God’s Word and receive His love so that

you can overcome fear and move forward into the good life He has prepared for you!

Father in heaven, thank You for taking me to new levels. I know You have equipped me with a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Fill me with Your confidence and assurance

Family/Extended Family, greetings! In last weeks article I shared a word about resting in Je-sus Christ, the word ‘rest’ is from the Greek word ‘ana-pauo’, which means to cause or permit one to cease from any movement or labour in order to recover and collect his strength. Their is no doubt in my mind we all know someone that needs rest, and I’m sure you can admit money, pills, or any other material or substance will only provide temporary rest, but not real rest. David a king of Israel understood if you are in need of real rest and secu-rity, rest and security that provides much more than any substance or material it is only found in seeking God with all your heart. Where, what, or who are you looking to, to find rest and security? Seek Jesus he is rest, security, and can help meet your needs no matter how negative things

might be, he has promised never to forsake us.=

Good News! A co-worker sent me an email last week with an Internet browser link that opened to news about an airline crew resorting to asking passengers to help pay for fuel. The airplane had to divert to another route and due to certain circumstances the place they would land to refuel could only accept cash. What caught my attention was along with this link he made the following comment and also asked a question, “How prepared are you, if times are getting this bad. Very interesting, but scary article. Are you taking the steps to make your future safe?” If you are familiar with God’s written word it should be no surprise. I have talked about the obvious before, the global econ-omy, extreme weather, violence, yes it can be scary. As I read his email I was reminded of a word in God’s holy

scriptures, now follow me I have some good news.

In the Old Testament of the Holy Bible it reads in Psalms 37:25 “ I have been young and now I am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken Or his descendants beg-ging bread.” I’m not one that makes a parade with sending emails or posts signs on my desk at the office to testify about my unashamed relationship with my Lord and sav-ior Jesus Christ. But as sure as the air we breathe and do not see, that is how sure the spirit of God quickened me to send a reply with this scripture. Just as clear as God spoke through his prophets and through Jesus Christ our Lord that times would change and escalate from worse to worse, he also made many promises like David wrote, ...” Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken Or his descen-dants begging bread.” I agree things can be scary, but safe

when we honor his good news.

David was the youngest son of Jesse. He was a brave war-rior, a talented musician and poet, and the greatest king of Israel. As a young man armed with just a slingshot, David killed the terrible giant Goliath. David brought together the twelve tribes of Israel into a single kingdom and ruled over it for thirty-three years. David was succeeded on the throne by his son Solomon. The biblical name Da-vid is Hebrew in origin and its meaning is beloved. It is written in the Holy Bible in the New Testament found in 1 Peter 2:9 “But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light ;” Ok, I agree with words of my co-worker, “ scary article “, but I have some good news.

Along with the written word I also replied to my co-worker these comments, I’m quoting myself, “Well sir, Its obvious time in this age has changed in many ways and it is tough in many ways for many, but you see it does not matter what king or kingdom, who runs the white house, or anyone in authority, our future is very secure, why? consider these words. “ The words I shared from Psalms 35, I told you what David did with just a slingshot, despite David’s serious mistakes God still in his mercy used him why? Check these words out written in the second part of the verse of Acts 13:22 “..I HAVE FOUND DAVID the son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will.” Family, friends, maybe you are having it tough in some areas and it feels scary, seek God daily he takes

what you have and can turn it into good news.
