Giancarlo Caratti is Head for Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer at the Eu-ropean Commission, managing its intellectual property and promoting technology transfer. In 2015 he was Deputy Commissioner General for the EU participation in the World Expo Milano. He worked in the Universities of Florence and Pisa as teaching and research assistant in mechanical engi-neering. He spent one year as visiting scholar at the Georgia Institute of Technology and worked in a private engineer-ing firm before entering the EC in 1986.

AsierRufinoBengoe-chea is co-founder and CEO of Tecnalia Ventures. He worked at: Accenture (Ireland), BNP Paribas (France), Parthenon (UK-USA-Dubai), Eli Lilly (UK), Gilead (Turkey) and start-ups and SMEs always focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship.Co-founder of Microwave Ventures; board member of several start-ups and TTO Circle; professor at Deusto Business School; EC Expert on Innovation in SMEs. MBA Lon-don Business School / Sloan MIT and BA from the Basque Country University-Reims.

Giacomo Mattinó is since May 2015 Head of the Unit responsible for the Enter-prise Europe Network (EEN), the world’s largest support network for SMEs. The unit also promotes SME interna-tionalization and innovation, Corporate Social Responsibility and the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program, the cross-border exchange be-tween new entrepreneurs and experienced ones.

Aloña Martiarena is an Assistant Professor in the area of Entrepreneurship at IE Business School. Her research lies in the intersection of Entrepreneurship and Business Economics. Her most recent work focuses on understand-ing career pathways and how organizational struc-tures influence individuals’ abilities and attitudes towards entrepreneurship. She holds a PhD in Economics from Aston Business School and MSc Economics and Management from the London School of Economics.

MargheritaBacigalupois a research fellow at the European Commission Joint Research Centre. She leads the work on the European Entrepreneurship Competence Framework (EntreComp). Since its publication in 2016, she has been disseminating it, by developing support material to facilitate its take up by stake-holders in the public, private and third sector alike.In 2018, she became an Hon-orary Fellow of the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs.

Isidro Laso Ballesteros is Deputy Head of Unit at the ‘Innovation Ecosystems unit’ TF2. He was for 8 years the head of the Startup Europe initiative. Since 2015 he has also been nominated thought leader at United Nations ITU.He’s member of several ad-visory boards to international networks of startups, combin-ing his professional activities with academic activities in Cambridge University CSAP Continuing Fellow He founded two startups when finished university.

Michal Gorzynski joined EIT – European Institute of Innovation and Technology in 2012 and currently he holds position of Head of Section Impact/ Innovation Officer. He is also a member of the Supervisory Council of Center for Social and Economic Research Institute. From 2009 to 2012 Michal worked for DG DEVCO at the EU Delegation to Ukraine. From 2000 until 2009 he was Deputy Director of CASE-Advisors Ltd and researcher at CASE Foundation.

JikkeDeJong Rui Andres was a founder employee of EDP Inovacao (innovation arm of the energy utility EDP) with responsibility for several new businesses for the Group. Rui supported the set up EDP Ventures (the corporate venture arm of EDP) where he invested in a number of start-up companies and worked for Moonray Investors (now 8 Roads) – Fidelity’s fam-ily office with $2.5bn assets under management – before joining Frontier IP. Rui is an approved person under FSMA and a director of several spin-off companies.

Corinne Borel is Head of the spin-off development programme at CEA since 2016, which covers the acceleration of projects, from ideas until the first investments. She is also non executive Pres-ident of a deeptech incubator at Paris-Saclay, IncubAlliance. Corinne holds a PhD in mate-rial science and has previously managed various positions at CEA, in research, European affairs and technology transfer.

Ash Ravikumar joined CERN’s Knowledge Transfer Group in August 2019 as Entrepreneurship Development Officer, with responsibility for managing the Business Incu-bation Centre (BIC) network and foster a culture of entre-preneurship at CERN. Prior to joining CERN, Ash held roles in Business development and commercialization at universities in the USA and Australia, and with Honeywell in India. Ash holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering and En-trepreneurship from University of South Florida, USA.

Thorsten Lambertus heads Fraunhofer AHEAD as one of Europe’s largest tech transfer and company building programs that supports 60+ high-tech ventures per year. Before launching AHEAD in 2019, Thorsten has initiated and scaled Fraunhofer’s first startup accelerator FDays® with a 38% tech transfer rate among 180 projects in 5 years. Apart from that, he is an exec-utive trainer on entrepreneur-ship & innovation, a two-time entrepreneur and has worked as an innovation consultant in the automotive and energy sectors.
