Our Mission

The main mission of the ESA Technology Transfer Programme (TTP) is to facilitate the use of space technology and space systems for non-space applications and to further demonstrate the benefit of the European Space Programme to the European citizens.

The Technology Transfer Programme Office is responsible for defining the overall approach and strategy for the transfer of space technologies and systems, including the incubation of start up companies and its funding.

A Spanish company devoted to the wine production is looking for a method to detect and disinfect seeds from micro-organism contamination. The aim is to avoid the deterioration of seeds surface. One alternative could be the sterilisation of the seeds container by advanced and specialised coating methods. The company monitors the fruit from the moment it is cut from the vine until it reaches the winery, so as to avert any possibility that it may spoil or shrivel. In-depth research into the properties imparted to the wine by each of the grape's biological constituents helps to conduct the ageing processes which bring out our wines' characteristic nuances with greater accuracy
