TSUNAMI IN THAILAND

DISASTER

• An earthquake happened in the sea of Thailand in the 26 of December of 2004. Later a very big tsunami hit Thailand with floods.

• The tsunami destroyed the houses, hotels and resorts in all the coast.

DAMAGES

• Totally the deaths were 200.000 people, the hurts and disappeared were thousand and thousands.

• Material damages: hundred of small villages of fishermen disappeared and today, many of this villages weren’t repaired.

• It ocurred in these countries: Thailand(the most afected area),Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Birmania, Kenia and South Africa.

OTHER INFORMATION

• The Red Cross promissed humanitary help, but nowaday the countries affected weren’t completely repaired.

The film “Lo imposible” was made based in the true story of a family in

this disaster.
