Traffic Flow Changes during Peak Hours
in Front of RP II Gate
February 16, 2010Priya, Sonia, Prabhat
Background• Everyday during peak hours there is a traffic chaos in front of the RP II gate
because of The Shri Ram School traffic– School in the center of residential complexes with no direct access to the main road– School involved in legal and non-legal battles with neighborhood communities –
giving very little room to maneuver– The school is growing - from 1200 about 5 years back to 1800 today – and 2400 by
next year • iamgurgaon - a citizen body has stepped forward to find solutions• The problem is being attacked from 4 directions
– Create a parking for about 70 cars near the fruit vendors– Try and creat alternate pedestrian access routes to the school– Try and promote the bus service– Manage the traffic flow better
• The scope of this group is to recommend and drive changes required in the traffic flow
Methodology Followed
• Brain storming with the larger group here• Observing peak hour traffic for 2 days• Informal discussions with other parents• Meeting with RP II RWA • Internal brainstorming
Issues creating the Chaos
