What is Menstruation?Menstruation is the periodic discharge of
blood and bloody tissues coming from the
uterus. A girl’s first period is called
“Menarche”.
It signals that she is growing up and her
body is preparing to have a baby some
day.
Is it normal to have
Menstruation?Yes! It is normal for girls to have it as early
as 9 years of age. The flow may last for
about 3-7 days.
Menstrual Hygiene
Take a bath or shower daily.
Wear clean and comfortable clothes.
Wash your genitals and change your
underwear.
Use sanitary pads. Change them as
often as needed.
