Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
Psalm 62:1-2 (NIV)
Sanctuary Selected verses from Mark, Psalms, Isaiah, Matthew, Ephesians.
Leader: When life weighs us down, we need a place where we can draw near to God’s heart.
All: Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place, and get some rest.
Leader:
In quietness and seclusion, in retreat, we find new meaning for life.
ALL:
…… my salvation comes from Him. Wait for the Lord: be
strong and take heart, and wait for the Lord. In quietness and
trust is your strength.
Leader: We must never take flight from reality, but we must take flight to reality in God, our refuge.
All: God is our refuge and strength. An ever-present help in times of trouble. Be still and know that I am God.
Leader:
Sooner or later that which is weak in us, cries for us to lay our burden on Someone who is stronger.
All:
Leader: If we draw near God’s heart we find sanctuary. Sanctuary that brings strength; sanctuary which is release from hurt and sorrow; sanctuary opening the channel of renewal; sanctuary lifting us up on wings of love and support.
All: Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

2 Corinthians 5:14-21 (MSG)
A New Life 14-15 Our firm decision is to work from this focused center: One man died for everyone. That puts everyone in the same boat. He included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own.
2 Corinthians 5:14-21 (MSG)
16-20 Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it!
2 Corinthians 5:14-21 (MSG)
All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives.
2 Corinthians 5:14-21 (MSG)
God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you. 21 How? you ask. In Christ. God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God.

Luke 10:25-37 (NLT)
The Most Important Commandment 25 One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?”
Luke 10:25-37 (NLT)
27 The man answered, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” 28 “Right!” Jesus told him. “Do this and you will live!” 29 The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
Luke 10:25-37 (NLT)
Parable of the Good Samaritan 30 Jesus replied with a story: “A Jewish man was traveling from Jerusalem down to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road. 31 “By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by.
Luke 10:25-37 (NLT)
32 A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side. 33 “Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him. 34 Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them.
Luke 10:25-37 (NLT)
Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. 35 The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him, ‘Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I’ll pay you the next time I’m here.’ 36 “Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?” Jesus asked.
Luke 10:25-37 (NLT)
37 The man replied, “The one who showed him mercy.”
Then Jesus said, “Yes, now go and do the same.”
Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
