INTRODUCTION
• HV transmission lines is vital scheme for power system
• Teleprotection using HV transmission lines using PLC
• Lightning surges may harm HV transmission lines / even the electronic components

THE ALIM CARD (POWER SUPPLY MODULE) TROUBLESHOOTING
• Based on Switching Mode Power Supply (SMPS)• All of the power output level were off• Replacement of the oscillator Circuit (logic NOT)
– Made the output +_ 15V, +_ 5V, level appear
• Rewinding of the transformer– Made the -36 volts level appear
• The addition of fuse on every level

• High Frequency Power Amplifier• Based on Differential Amplifier [7]• Examination on every components : Some transistor
were on leakage current between C-E• Replacement on substitute component of D44H11• PLC test on site : only success 2 minutes• The Breakdown of 3 Amperes fuse on -36 Volts SMPS :
the circuit still on damaged condition

• The creation of schematic and undergo simulation , find the operating currents : about 0.34 amperes
• Replacement on identical component of all MPQ2222, 2N2219A, D44H11 transistors
• Trial on site• Success. Alarm LED was off.

RESULT
• Power Supply Module problems : MOSFET, NOT logic, winding of transformer
• HFPA Module problems : MPQ2222 2N2219A, D44H11• Addition of Power Supply Fuse (3 Ampere)

CONCLUSION
• Troubleshooting with trial and errors success• Trial and Error take a consideration of Operating Current• If The Operating Current goes far above the simulation, it
means there is still any breakdown• The internal fuse addition of every output voltage level is
a last attempt of electronic components protection
