NB. If the thermostat is displaying CODE initially you will ONLY be presented with step 1 and step 4; set these as described below.Once you have either completed steps 1 and 4, or the controller is displaying something other than CODE, you must press and holdthe button until the word CODE is displayed and follow the steps below. To reset the thermostat, press and hold the button until CODEis displayed.Please note that the setup for older versions can be seen in RED.NB. If the thermostat is flashing at any time, please revert to the Trouble Shooter on page 2.Setup code 12345Rotate button to select code 0044 and then pressbutton once.Rotate button to select ALO and then press the buttonOperatingmode Rotate button to select FS to activate the floor sensor,then press button. This is a floor sensor only selection.Sensorselection Maximumfloortemperatureselection6LO should be displayed, you should rotate the dial toselect -30C then press the button.Off periods7 Rotate the button to select clock display as either 24hours or 12 hours AM/PM.Clock display8Press button once.Save settings9Press and hold button. The display now shows the timeand day (number 1 represents Monday, number 7 isSunday). Rotate the dial to show the correct time andday of the week and then press the button to save thecorrect time setting. Setting theclock10Press the button so there is a black circle around theoutside of the digital display. The thermostat is now inmanual mode.Manual mode11For test purposes, turn the setting up to 10 until is displayed. This may take a few minutes to display. This ensures that the thermostat is sending output to the heating element.This temperature setting is simply for test purposes.When it is apparent that the floor is heating, lower thetemperature immediately. This should beevaluated over a 24 hour period).TesttemperatureTemperaturereadoutAdaptive modeRotate button to select AdAP and then press buttonClockdisplayRotate the button to select clock display as either24 hours or 12 hours AM/PMAt nt rotate button to select either of the followingtemperature selection, maximum floor temperatures,then press button.56Visual checksVISUAL CHECK ONECracked LCD displayThis fault is caused when someoneattempts to remove the front cover ofthe thermostat. This is normallyremoved by carefully pushing downon the plastic tab in the top centralgrill. If care is not taken, theimplement used to push down thetab slips and damages the display,causing it to crack. This damage canalso be caused by over-tightening ofthe screws.This fault is caused when theelectrics entering the back of thethermostat are stripped back too far,exposing the live conductors. Whenthis happens, if these exposed wirescross, they short and cause the fuseto blow and the back of thecontroller to be blackened.Remove the front cover and inspectthe back of the LCD display. At theback are a set of gold connectorpins, these leave the factorystraight, if they are bent ordistorted then a heavy hand hasbeen used to plug the display intothe base of the thermostat.VISUAL CHECK TWOBlackening at the rear of thethermostatVISUAL CHECK THREEBent pinsThese instructions will help to identify whether the fault with your underfloor heating system has beencaused due to mis-installation/not following user instructions.If these VISUAL checks are carried out correctly, the thermostat may not have to be returned to DEVI, which will save you time.In all three examples, the thermostat would not be covered by the DEVI Warranty. In this case a new thermostat should be purchased.7Performance trouble shooterIf you are still encountering a heating issue, please complete section 1 and 5 and then return to DEVI. Please provide description of all checks carried out, eg. position of floor sensor, checking of maximum floortemperature etc.You will then be contacted as soon as possible.The system is not heating up to therequired temperature, or there is nodifference in performance betweensettings 6 and 10.HEATING ISSUEThe floor temperature hasexceeded the maximumtemperature.POSSIBLE CAUSES Check the maximum floortemperature is set correctly, (see step 5 on pages 6 and 7).ACTIONCheck the positioning of the floorsensor is correct. (Floor sensor shouldbe completely in the conduit eitherparallel to deviheat element ordirectly underneath devimat.)Increase the available heating outputwithin the area by adding asupplementary heating source.Check the LO set-back is set correctly --15 for deviheat, -30 for devimat.Reduce operating temperatures tothe following: deviheat -21-24C, anddevimat (and all operating on floorsensor only - wet areas, 4-7C)Set the timer to come on at thetime when the heat is required, (not before).Ensure that the time periods requiredare displayed on the thermostat andall segments that are outside theintended time periodare clear.Confirm that the floor structure isstandard throughout the floor/build.Confirm that there is a heatingelement beneath the area in questionand that the element has beeninstalled at the same Wm2densityacross the floor.Check the positioning of the sensors.(Floor sensor should be completelywithin the conduit, either parallel tothe heating element or directlyunderneath the devimat. Air sensorshould be positioned away from anyexternal factors that influence the airtemperature surrounding thethermostat and therefore causing thesystem to switch off early.Check electrical connections to thethermostat (page 11 of the userguide) and complete all visual checkson page 4.Press and hold the button so that allsegments around the outside arefilled, then quickly turn the dial anti-clockwise.With devimat systems there may notbe enough output to heat the area.The temperature has lowered to theset LO amount. The system will aim to reach thedisplayed temperature for the timeset. (devireg intelligence based onprevious performance).The system is in manual mode.It is not possible for the element toheat up at variable rates. This is theresult of an external influence onthe system. Eg. Different underlying floor ordifferent floor covering.The air/floor sensors are notreading the correct temperature. This may be a fault caused by afault with the electricalconnections.The thermostat will only switch offin manual mode.The system is heating outside thetime period. The time period isindicated by the black segmentsaround the dial. (This may result inhigh running costs).The floor is heating up at variabletemperatures across the wholefloor. In case of defective devireg thermostats, DEVI reserves the right to repair the unit freeof charge and without unreasonable delay to the customer.
