Tropical Rain ForestGeography & Climate
Location: Near the equator. Description: Warm temperature, lush
plant grow. Soil Type: Few nutrients it is poor because
of the high number of organisms. Precipitation: 200 to 600 inches of rainfall
each year. Temperature Range: 21 degrees Celsius
30 degrees Celsius
Tropical Rain ForestBiodiversity
Plant Species: Tree trunk, branches, mosses, ferns, orchids, and epiphytes.
Owls, bats, frogs, deer, snakes, and pigs, mosquito.
Tropical Rain ForestAdaptations Needed for Survival
Plant Species: Shallow wide roots, epiphyte, sunlight is a major limiting factor, plants grows in layers, and little sun reaches the floor.
Animal: Many symbiotic relationships, lives in different levels of a canopy, many animals are specialist and require camouflage, and special habitats is common for components to survive.
Tropical Rain ForestInteractions of Biotic and Abiotic
Biotic : Needs rainfall to grow food, and earth’s most common land biome.
A biotic: A thing for biotic things to live, temperature rarely higher than 10 degrees Celsius permafrost layer, and short growing seasons .
What is Biodiversity?
Biodiversity is a variety of life which has different kinds of species in it.
How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem?
