Romans 1:21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as

God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.The flesh must be able to affect the mind and heart, therefore both residein the soul of a man.

Romans 2:15 since they show that the requirements of the law arewritten on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.

The conscience must be able to affect the mind and heart, yet remainpure (in this situation so that it might bear witness) and therefore not part

of the flesh.Acts 24:16 So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before Godand man.

The conscience touches both soul and spirit yet must reside in the soulbecause we need to strive to keep it clear.

1 Timothy 4:2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whoseconsciences have been seared as with a hot iron.

When listening to the flesh the soul ignores the conscience (link betweensoul and spirit) and creates a hard out layer on the conscience where thespirit touches the soul.

Romans 7:17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin livingin me.

I must be separate, yet affected by sin, therefore I reside in my souland can be affected by both my spirit and my flesh.

Romans 6:6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so thatthe body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer beslaves to sin.

The flesh is crucified and no longer has connection to the mind and heart,freeing up the soul to listen fully to the spirit and keep its conscienceclear (because anyone who has died has been freed from sin v. 7).

Romans 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God'schildren.

The human spirit is in complete agreement with the Holy Spirit and notsubject to sin or deception (after becoming a Christian).

Romans 8:5-6 those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desiresthe mind controlled by the Spirit islife and peace.

Christians have the full measure of Gods grace available to them in order to live sin-free lives (thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!)

Romans 8:10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin,yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Take up your cross daily (surrender to Christ in you), and He will keepyour body (sinful nature) dead, and your spirit alive.

1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, becauseGod's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he hasbeen born of God.

Christians dont believe this verse. We confuse our human effort and itsso-so results with Gods desire for surrender and its righteous results(foolish Galatians see 3:3).

Philippians 1:10-11 that you may bepure and blameless until the dayof Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through JesusChrist.

Sin-free living only comes through continual abiding in the presence of Christ and full surrender to the Holy Spirit. Impossible? No! For nothingis impossible with God (Luke 1:37).

Romans 7:21-22 So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evilis right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law;

A struggling Christian has allowed evil a foothold in his soul, but he stillstrives to do everything that is right and pleasing to God.

Romans 7:23 but I see another law at work in the members of my body,waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of thelaw of sin at work within my members.

Without revelation in his soul (provided by the Holy Spirit, availablethrough his human spirit) this Christian will start to sin regularly.

Romans 7:24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from thisbody of death?

The flesh that should have been crucified has been resurrected (thisbody of death) and now has a majority say in life decisions. Only theHoly Spirit, through the blood of Jesus, can cleanse a man in this state.
