PREZ RELEASE

PREZ RELEASE

The 2015 VTR in LakeGeneva Wisconsin was agreat event blending aclassic resort area withbeautiful homes and ourclassic Triumphs. Sharonand I traveled with Terryand Bernadette Mackeydown to Lake Genevataking a leisurely two daysto arrive in at the Abbeyresort in Fontana Wiscon-sin. Found some wonder-ful roads through westernWisconsin and took afascinating tour of FrankLloyd Wright’s home inSpring Green.

Club participation wasexcellent and we managedto receive a VTR clubparticipation award. Con-gratulations to John Myerswho received 1st place inthe concours show with hisTR8. In addition, JoeSoucheray took 3rd place inconcours with his TR6 andTerry Mackey took 3rd

place in TR4 participant’schoice category.

Our next two meetings willbe held in the RosevilleVFW post 7555. Thislocation was chosen due toits central metro location

and a good sized parkinglot along with decentfacilities and food. Sorry Iwill miss the Septembermeeting as well due to mydaughter getting marriedin Warrens Wisconsin.

My TR6 performed prettywill on our trip to VTRuntil I started havingtrouble getting it to go intofirst gear at stops. It lookslike my clutch is not fullydisengaging and bleedingthe clutch hydraulicsprovided no relief. Inoticed the clutch slave isleaking so a new slave willhopefully solve the prob-lem. Gotta love our Tri-umphs!

Check out our club news-letter for upcoming driv-ing events. Also, thankyou to Orrin McGill fortaking over as club news-letter editor.

VTR REPORT SEPTEMBER 2015

What a great time all of us hadwho attended this year’s VTRconvention dubbed “Triumphs Inthe Heartland”.The Illinois Club did a great jobas they have done for the last 3VTR conventions they havehosted.Neuman’s, Mackey’s, McGill’s,Thompson’s, Lindbergs, Myer’s,Bisanz’s, Ethier’s, Lee’s,Demuth’s, Holt’s, Joe Soucheray,Steve Shogren, Dan Buchen,Sanderson’s, Wayne Morris, anda few other past Mn Tr memberswere all present. Highlights forsome was the mail boat run onLake Geneva Cruise Lines as wewatched the mail jumpers get onand off the boat. The gimmickrally was fun this year and wasnot as tricky or deep as the onewe attended in North Carolina. The trip to Gus’s custard standwas great. Gus and his crew gothundreds of orders out of hiskitchen in less than 5 minutes fromorder. Most made it with the

directions given, but Sanderson’ssomehow found a way to get lost.We later found that someone hadremoved one of the road signs onthe route which caused ourproblem. It was probably drivererror as Gayle reminded meanyhow. There were lots of self guidedtours and plenty to see. Surpris-ingly being so close to Chicago, the Lake Geneva was very rural.Good location for us Mn Tr folks. This year miles were under 1000with the route down and backand all the tours.

Congratulations goes to a few MnTR owners who fared well in theconcours. John Myers scoredwell to take first place for TR8’s.Joe Soucheray fared well with hislate TR6 and came in 3rd place.Terry Mackey took 3rd with hisnew TR4 for participant’s choice.Good job to all of you for yourbeautiful cars.

2016 will find us all back in Texasas the Red River Tr club will be

our host once again from Oct 3-7, 2016. It will be held in NorthTexas at the Tanglewood Resorton lake Texoma in Pottsboro,Texas. Cost will be $135 for 1car, 1 driver and 1 non driver. You will get a $15 discount if youregister by August 15 of 2016.You may come without a Triumphfor $20 reg fee. Rooms are $99for any King. You may call 800833 6569 which gets you right tothe resort. Be sure to say you willbe joining Red River Triumphs onthose dates.

Hope those of you who did notmake it to this year’s conventionwill join us in Texas in 2016.Best wishes for happy TR motor-ing and if you are not a memberwe need you. Please join VTR.Call me for help or go towww.vtr.org

A Note From PAT:Our club is thriving with greatparticipation. There is clearlyinterest in the club and our clubevents. The challenge we face isthat all these events, all the realbusiness of the club, is handled bya very small group of members, literally 3 or 4 people. You’veheard the saying “20% of peopledo 80% of the work” in an organi-zation... in the case of our club, it’sfar less than the 20%. You willprobably notice lots ofIntermarque events, just aboutsomething every weekend.

Mn.Triumphs where a foundingmember club of the Intermarquemovement so that there would besomething to do every weekend. We all want more driving eventsbut to do this I need your help.

Do you attend a lot of clubevents? Do you enjoy them? Please consider volunteering toorganize a club event. Haveyou’ve always imagined orconsidered an event? We willhelp with logistics or funds ifnecessary.

Are you willing to give some-thing back to the club? Please letme know how you’d like tocontribute. Contact me anytime:

The August Tech Sessionwas held at JillDavenports’s home inSouth Minneapolis. 8 clubmembers showed up tohelp get her 75 Spitty upand running for the firsttime in 3 plus years. BillGingerich and Doug Burchstarted on checking out thecarb and reinstalling it. BillNelson and I removed theplugs and regaped themand lubed the cylindersbefore reinstalling them. Ahose was then run from thefuel pump to a fresh can ofgas. The battery chargersaid it was charged but itlied. Inthe mean time we checkedout the after market electricignition system further. Thenew battery was hooked upand within 1 minute the carwas running.. 1 minute laterthe car was idling betterthan most others. BillGingerich had a checksheet of getting a vehicleroad worthy and he and Jilland her son went thur it.She needs some more parts

and help from the club butshe is defiantly very happywith the progress sofar. The best part of thisTech Session was thewided eyed look and ear toear grin that was not re-movable when the carsprung to life. The lunch, pulled pork, asian coleslaw and fresh baked cook-ies Jill made was to die for.I really enjoyed being a partof this Tech Session. Those of you how werenot there boy did you missout.
