Triton Distribution Systems | Air Services Online Travel Distribution Operator Software

Triton Distribution Systems Air Services Online Operator Software needed a new UX design strategy that allowed the company to package it’s Air Services Application both as a standalone system and as part of a suite of Air Travel, Car Rental, and Hotel Accommodations Software package for Operators, unlike existing systems such as Expedia and Priceline, Triton Online Travel Distribution is marketed speci�cally for Operator-assisted experiences.

In looking at the original screens for Air Services, it’s plain to see many enhancement opportunities that will enable the software product to compete as a world-class product in it’s market space. These screens though simple and spreadsheet-like in form needed service distinction, which proved to be a challenge. Not only was the integrity of the live data ported from a terminal connection cumbersome to work with, the data needed severe formatting and layout enhancements in order to be readable even by today’s operator skillset and training experiences.

Revision 1 of this 14 month project allowed for a more modern approach and strategy that explored a “container system” though granted the terminal based data didn’t allow for dynamic functionality, such as FLASH or a JAVA based system could serve, XML was used to handle much of the Style Sheet de�nitions, only at the point of presentation.

With a much more modern branding standard that included the new Triton brand identity, new icons, buttons, and an overall containerized approach quickly made the software product more e�cient and easier to use.

Revision 2 of the Air Services system introduced a new brand name, the Air Serivices now called Triton Reservation Expert, enhancements included more XML based Style Sheet de�nitions and a brand new container application called the Wizard which combined most of the functionality as the parent application with the ability to function as a standalone app (much like the new mobile apps these days)

Keeping the UX standard for color mapping with Service distinction allowed the now over 80% container system application to remain orga-nized in regards to how it classi�ed which part of the Reservation Expert application the operator was processing while keeping a dynamic look and feel that increased the e�ciency of every reserveration item processed by the system.

The search results screen and the reservation payment screens were also included in both revisions to re�ect the re-design of the container system, XML Style Sheet structure, and the Wizard Application. As a result, Reservation Expert Air Services project was used as a template to re-design the Car Rental and Hotel Reservation applications, each with the enhancements in order to deliver a world-class product service system used by Travel Operators worldwide.
