In the group, there is one terrestrial station and five online only genre-specific stations. When Triton Digital began working with them, Radio One had been experiencing frequent technical problems streaming audio to its listeners. The signal was unreliable and instead of growing the audience numbers and increasing the stations’ reach, the opposite was happening. Integrated players on Radio One’s web player and Facebook page were drawing few listeners. While the streams were reaching international audiences the numbers were small. Challenge Make believers out of Radio One. Because of the previous unreliable stream, the group decided to start slow. They chose only the terrestrial station, RadioOne and the Club One Dot FM online webcast for the conversion to Triton Digital’s Delivery Platform. With the reliability of the streams for online and mobile delivery, Radio One now has an average of 35,000 concurrent users in its home country of Lebanon, up from 13,500. The reach has increased too with big audience growth around the world: Saudi Arabia, UK, US, Canada, France, Qatar, UAE, Iraq and Germany. The reliability of the stream has brought listeners back to the brand and allowed new listeners to find it.

Loyalty and engagement soared as the audience encountered the superior listening experience. In the last five months, Radio One’s Facebook page has garnered 81,000 “Likes”, which places it as Lebanon’s number one station on Facebook. The interaction between individual listeners and the station strengthen the personal connection; many of the song requests come from the requests posted on the wall.

This accomplishment was recognized with and award for “Best Facebook Interactive and Design Application” at a gala ceremony in Dubai in April 2012.

Triton Digital can provide this level of reliability because we own every part of the infrastructure from one end to the other. Multiple points of presence support your local and global listeners. As Radio One Lebanon has shown, reliability and user experience are the foundation for building audience, loyalty and engagement. Web players and mobile apps are already in development for the other Radio One stations.
