Transcript of Triptych: Spaces
Artist: Henri Cartier-Bresson
• French photographer/filmmaker whose humane spontaneous photography helped to establish photojournalism as an art form
Rule of Thirds• Breaking down an image into thirds both horizontally and vertically so
you have 9 parts to achieve good composition• The horizon line should be 1/3 up or 1/3 down• The subject matter should be in the vertical portions

William Eggleston
• Focused on the everyday subjects, framing them to emulate the family snap shot. However, he juxtaposed it by using an expensive printing technique• This combination was inspired, with the unsophisticated subject subverting the
sophisticated aesthetic
How I will incorporate his work:• I like Eggleston’s use of red in his pictures. In my triptych, I will use this colour as a
possible recurring motif. I may also use the complimentary colour green in my images
Final Image: Heaven
I chose this image because it used red similar to Egglestion's work. I have also enhanced the green to compliment the red
